PSG could be a stroke of luck, Levy can happily ask for the moon from them and upfront because they'll match. Then he takes that to Perez and says, 'pay-up fucker or Bale goes to Paris and they'll give it all upfront.' It doesn't really matter if Bale rejects or not if we can use it as leverage before he actually talks to the PSG officials.

You're watching with your eyes closed unfortunately. Bale WAS our team last year and our 2 x 1-0 victories thanks to penalties have done nothing to paper over anything, they have been workmanlike, nothing more.

I'm sorry if you want to get all romantic about THFC, I'm sure if you cut yourself you would bleed blue blood like the rest of us blah blah blah, but Bale leaving is going to be monstrous. Bale can demand what he wants because he's one of the best players in the world. It's reality, as unfortunate as it might be.

Well my eyes must have been closed for the first half of last season, when Bale had only scored five goals, Defoe had nearly double that and we operated as a team with Bale only contributing as much as you might expect someone in his position to. And we were in 4th place.

He only 'became our team' after Sandro got injured and our midfield was effectively neutered - something Levy and Baldini have addressed this summer.

We were 4th, on course for champion's league, before Bale really took off last season. The idea that he is 'the team' is frankly insulting to the rest of the squad. In fact before Christmas, only one of his league goals was actually a match winner.

Been out most of the day and just catching up with this thread..... What the hell is going on?!

Mata and Rooney... Seriously, behave.

Can't really comment on Pastore as I've barely seen him but Banega is a very good player.

And Bale is possibly reconsidering but AVB is not fussed and wants to move on regardless. Doesn't make any sense.

Lastly, I cannot believe some of you are happy to sell Bale to a PL club just to get an extra bit of dough or some players who would never come to us in a million years.

What the fuck?! Some of you need to have a word with yourselves. I urge you to think about it. Really think hard about it.

Bale is probably the best pkayer in the PL, in the top ten in the world, is 24 and is only going to get better. And you know what? He's our player with 3 years of his contract to run. We don't have to sell. .

Do you really want to see him tear it up for one of our PL rivals every week, possibly winning them the league, scoring goals against us?

Want to watch him on MOTD or live on Sky excelling for another team while everyone wanks themselves silly over him every week?

Successful clubs never willingly sell their best players to thier rivals. It is laughable to suggest we are outsiders to challenge at the top and contemplate selling to our rivals.

Fortunately, I doubt it would happen but I would be totally disgusted with the club if it did.

Sorry, rant over.

So Pastore is the latest to be linked eh?

Seemed like he had huge potential at Palermo but whether he's suffering through all the ego's at PSG I don't know but he hasn't set the world alight.

Seems an alternative to Eriksen at least but i remain to be convinced - especially at what will be mega bucks.

:) @ Rooney & Mata - neither would come to us.

To say you don't want either is laughable, both are unreal, and both world class players.

Our 5 front men yesterday had only been playing together for a short amount of time and everyone including EVERYONE knows what we need to finish off the puzzle and make things tick better.

Workmanlike the way you have put it across sounds so negative and dirty. That wasn't what I took from it and a lot of others saw positives and are choosing to support that and the club with an upbeat attitude.

It's not romantic it's facts. Give them more than 180 mins and 2 clean sheets in the prem before you get so depressed about it.

I'm not depressed about anything. I've had two great days out, although Selhurst was a shithole.

I took it more as AVB moving on awaiting the inevitable and meanwhile GB might be reconsidering. Not that GB says he is reconsidering and AVB saying meh.

It's like any manager in any company, you have your best workers, and those who get the job done.

If your best leaves, you do your bit to try and keep them, but if you cannot promise what they want, you have to let go and mvoe on - dwelling on it has a negative effect on the team, job and everything that comes with it.

If your best person then decides they want to stay - great news to be honest, if not, then good luck kinda thing, best thing is to never burn bridges.

What if they get hammered down the pub at lunch, come back and fall off their chair, then get found taking a piss in the stationary cupboard?

If anyone is worried about keeping an unhappy player, have a look at Rooney. He has worked his bollocks off for Man U so far.
