@mnw1979 I can't help meltdowns. When there isn't any info people fill in the gaps themselves

This should be stickied on the thread for every time the Jonesy brigade get their knickers in a twist when the ITK's haven't said anything for 30 seconds. Might save the permanent knee jerk copied and pasted response from the day befores thread. Same thing happened with N'Jie. Chairman says another club is in for him. ITK's say its done. Deal gets announced shortly before knuckle draggers turn up WHL with their pitch forks.

What JJ is saying is: we're working on it.

Which is everyone's fear, right? That we're not doing anything and watching all these players sign for everyone else? The man says it's not the case, so (with my trusty pinch of salt, and a feel of my averagely sized testicles) we're working on it.

I've taken Deadline Day off (again). I can't wait.

I think a lot of people are reading it like it's being said by the captain of a ship that has a hole in his boat though, whereas people need to read it like it's being said by an experienced gas engineer, with 35 years of unblemished service, who is confident of fixing the central heating..

It's obvious - JJ is said gas central heating engineer (y)

We've all been here before though, haven't we? I'm not questioning JJ's info, but given previous debacles we've witnessed would any of us be suprised if this transfer window left us with big gaps in the squad. I'd like to be optimistic, but sometimes it's difficult.

I've taken tomorrow and Friday off as well - gonna sit in front of SSN for 6 whole days, waiting for us to complete a deal.... Or maybe I'll do something slightly more productive.

We have also been here before in relation to having a bloated squad that Levy refuses to accept a loss on. Things have changed. We are always subject to (transfer) market forces, and if the market says move now, then we move now. We will not be the only club signing players in the next week.

Just looking through the January ITK archive and JJ was pretty quiet, but accurate with what he did say, such as "rebuild in summer (again) big clear out for MP & different squad"
However, I also spotted this gem:

"Berahino currently way too expensive for his talent, you are paying over 20M for potential which is high risk."

So what suddenly changed, other than clear desperation!?!?!?

I agree.

But he did score 12 goals from January 1st, in a couple of purple patches. So it could have reinforced his potential to whoever was judging...

I'm relaxed about the lack of signings (since the defensive ones of course). The Berahino deal is just tedious - but that's fine.
It might actually be an interesting deadline day for once!

Right now I am disliking Mr Levy, quite alot. Hoping that before the end of the window I can move back to liking him again. I prefer liking him :D

No, I know we're working on it. We're always working on something. My fear is that we will work on it right to the deadline and fail.

I see the mood's finally starting to turn in here.

Surprised it took that long and alarm bells weren't ringing for people weeks ago as opposed to last few days.

If Illarra goes to Real Sociedad and/or just doesn't materialise we are suddenly without a realistic quality option... Cue a Stambouli-esque signing.

Think it'll be two in, Berahino (we will panic and cough up way over the odds) and a panic signing in midfield that will be deadwood by next summer.

Just hope Lamela going isn't true which JJ seems not so adamant on anymore.. Because I bet my bollocks if he went there wouldn't be a direct replacement and that's what we need. (Instead it would be replacing him with Pritchard/Dembele essentially)

Would that be a successful window? Far from a disaster if I'm being realistic but nowhere near a success... Just as usual, underwhelming and short of what we need.

Wasn't Berahino to us 99% done? ;)
I'll believe Fazio is done when I see it on the OS. After all, he was close to completing his move to WBA last week.
Begs the question why even read this thread if you're just gonna dismiss the ITK?
