It's so us.

It's just funny now. I can't even get myself worked up in annoyance at the moment- our transfer windows resemble the footballing version of Fawlty Towers sometimes.

Loveable but complete chaos.

And most of us actually thought that we had a well prepared window and we were all set up as a functional unit behind the scenes...well Im guilty of that anyway.

:ROFLMAO:

You make it hard sometimes Spurs, but I still love you.

I don't agree I think SB could be the difference of staying up or relegation for them. His 20 goals last season certainly did.and their chairman knows that.

Berahino playing to become a breakout star may be totally different than Berahino playing after forfeiting a loyalty bonus under an expiring contract that is reportedly worth just 15k a week.

Well that shows he has a lot of faith in rondon and lambert then! Would be good to here some info from JJ or trix since the statement!

He is doing what it takes to improve his club. Goals is goals - they need them as much as we do. He's standing up to Levy. Admire him for that.

I applaud him and teaches Levy a lesson. What is he going to do now? We obviously I would of thought moved on. Pressure is on to what striker from overseas we can bring in now. I respect all itk's, but really do not want to hear this Berahino stuff will happen. Jeremy Peace is not known as a man who goes back on his words. If we wanted him should of just paid what they wanted or secured another striker. Now we have to wait 2-3 weeks before we see the potential new striker be ready, like Poch said about Clint today that he's is not ready. All a joke.

Think Trix mentioned something in player thread, but It was his opinion.

I'm using th Everton model for saying a player isnt for sale which is consistent in its message to Chelsea, as was Levy's lambasting of Chelsea when they were after Modric.
Everything about this process suggests it's Peace manouevering the end result in to a position where he doesn't lose face.
Yeah but we didn't sell Modric to Chelsea.
just saying

It was mate. I don't know anyone direct at the club, so anything I may hear usually takes a day or so to filter through. There are others that will be better placed than me regarding something like this.

I suppose it doesn't cross my mind that they will be relegated, with pulis in there along with rondon, I think they will be looking up rather than down with or without saido

Was a very odd statement from WBA though. I mean it didn't exactly take the Guardian long to pick it to pieces which just makes them look foolish. If it is a pay up type move its very poorly orchestrated imo

The whole thing has been odd imo, leaked all the way by WBA. It's usually the buying club doing all the leaking in order to exert pressure. The selling club would usually just issue a not for sale statement and leave it at that. No need whatsoever to include any numbers or payment structures if you have no intention of selling.

Didn't Lyon do something similar with Lloris? Or am I imagining things...?!

It's almost as if they're trying to advertise the fact that the player is unsettled and available for a big fee with a lot of cash up front.

Yeah that's what I don't get. All the details are so easy to rebuff it just makes them look amateurish. Interesting to see how it plays out though.

No, it was Chelsea who wanted Modric and went to £40m but Levy told them to do one. Modric was staying.
To be fair to Modric, he went on to play really well and got his head down the following season, knowing he was getting a move at the end of it.
The master stroke by Levy was to draw a bid from Real Madrid for £30m which though lower than the Chelsea bid, meant he was leaving our shores and not boosting the Chelsea ranks.

Well... Pearce did say that they have been deprived of SB for two matches while there was no serious offer on the table. This has obviously pissed them off massively. Imo, this is not a negotiation tactic - the negotiations are dead & buried. This is definitely a case of WBA getting a bit of their own back by venting their anger publicly.

I disagree. It's a manouevering tactic by Peace to bring the fan base on side for when he "gives in" and accepts improved terms which have probably been agreed last week and we're just tiptoeing to a position where Peace is able to say I got the best deal for a player who didn't want to play for our shirt.

I literally no idea who we will sign now up top. We can't even play the stick hand because we only have Kane.
