More the last few days as a whole with the whole Grealish thing and then Zaha and martial and then Toby maybe staying and Dembele now likely staying. I think you're right but obviously I can only go on the information that we have. Seems a bit haphazard from the club don't you think? I like that we have multiple options but I'd rather us just push for someone at this point rather than still playing the field. Gotta commit at some point

And with only 13 days to go too...:sorry:

If I recall correctly, we were linked with O.Dembele back when we was at Rennes but Dortmund beat us to him. So he's obviously someone we've had on our radar for a long time - and then we probably thought he would be out of our reach once he moved to Barca.

When a player like this becomes available, you have to pay attention even if he wasn't a target at the start of the window, we'd be silly to not look into it.

I do agree with you about the indecisiveness, though - doesn't feel like we have a clear favourite target . Having said that, at least all our eggs aren't in one basket.

Have wondered for a while why Spurs/other Premier League clubs don't take advantage of loan deals like clubs such as Juventus and Bayern, a 2 year loan deal with option to buy for say, 70m, would be an incredible bit of business, not sure I see it happening tho

With his injury record from last season, I can't see us buying Dembele (even if we have the money) outright. A loan+appearance based buy next season would be the most prudent. Regardless his price of nearly 80m+ makes it very difficult for us. This doesn't sound realistic considering our past

Think we’re committed. Personally I think we know just who we’re signing by now and have the deals in place. Infamous ducks. Maybe it’s wait to announce until after the US tour is over.

Mind you the M Dembele situation or even Toby could change a lot I suppose.

I hope Levy's remembered the window ends on the 9th of August this year and not the end of it. Just saying you know, with the lack of activity.

That's dependant on the players, clubs and agents on the other end of the deal committing, though. They'll also be hedging their bets, waiting to see what other interest materialises and trying to get the best deal, so it's not going to be as simple as pushing for our preferred option.

Maybe just maybe targets change when certain players come up. We may have had a list of targets at the start of the window but that could have changed. I doubt Dembele would even have been considered because he hasn't been at Barca long. If they are looking to sell it could totally change our strategy in the window. That doesn't mean we can't still make a move for our original targets if it doesn't materialise. I guess we just need to have several options lined up ready to pull the trigger.

I believe it has been explained that we like to do some business late as it is often the case that these opportunities appear. Doing early-ish business is good if you know exactly who you want regardless, but you wouldn't want to go all in early and miss out out on a player that would otherwise be disregarded as fantasy (like VdV).

I just hope that we don't get too distracted by "suggestions" of players that, even if offered, just won't happen. Would hate to miss out on a Ferrari because we think we can score a Bugatti (metaphorically speaking).

I'm liking the latest ITK.

Moussa is still a top class mid when fit and having him for another season is no bad thing. We have plenty of players at the club who could benefit from his experience (Winks, Onomah, Amos, etc.) and the realistic targets we've been linked to to replace him have been very underwhelming.

It's hard not to be excited about Ousmane but it's also a worry that we end up like Buridan's ass and in chasing Martial, Zaha and Ousmane get none of them.
