To be fair the Goat says agents are touting O Dembele around and that he would consider us but there is nothing there stating we are looking at him as an option. His talent might make him attractive if the offer is right though.

100% feels like a backup option for us, we know Poch wants Zaha or Martial.

Ousmane would be an incredible signing. Feel sorry for him tho, had an awful last season at Barca. Injuries complete fucked his integration and when he did play he looked really on edge. Massively overplaying when in possession. He is raw, and probably too raw for Barca to deal with. He will very likely go, buying Malcom feels the final nail in the Dembele coffin (at least for now). Although he is raw I would still take him over Zaha and Martial as he has the potential to be the best in the world. He is probably the most two footed player I have ever seen and often plays on the left so have no concerns about Lamela/Moura. As mentioned, dealing with Barca would be the hard part, but they do want/need money so could see them dealing around 70 with add ons. A buy back being the hardest thing to circumnavigate.

It's worth mentioning that agents will tout players about even if they are not deemed available by their clubs. No idea what the situation is withe OD but him being offered around does not always mean it is straightforward.

Really hope that Dembele news doesn't mean we aren't going to sign a CM. We still need a quality player in there because our current cm options aren't progressive enough against bus-parkers and we can't rely on them to be injury free. It's our most pressing need by a mile

I did suspect this may be the case here. Thinking back I think we've been led down that path many times before and come out empty handed.

Yes to Ousmane...long shot tho I'd imagine.

Rather mousa went tbh, dont think he can contribute regularly at his previous levels. The midfield is weak enough at present without flogging him to death and him breaking down further. Time's time for him IMO.

100%. Keeping Dembele without signing anyone is really not the solution. He has to be either out the door or a useful squad player. He's past his best i'm afraid.

Dembele staying means also with Dier, Winks, Josh staying and Wanyama there is very little chance of us signing a CM

Disappointing if that's the case as I don't think you can rely on Winks and Wanyama due to their injuries. Josh, I'd be surprised if he's given that much responsibility and Sissoko...well.

Also, the Goat didn't actually say we'd be looking to bring him in - just that he's been offered around by his agent.

However, having said that, I can't see how a player like Dembele becoming available wouldn't peak Levy's interest.

He may have waned a bit but Dembele is still by far our best CM when on form so even I f he’s phased out this season, he still has a role to play.

As for Barca’s Dembele, 100% we should try if there’s a chance. Ridiculous talent.

That's it though, he'll be phased out.

Do you kind of need an heir to the throne. We've had a while to identify and sign that player.

Cm need hasn’t changed imo, even with Dembele staying. In fact makes it even easier if we get a proper cm in and rotate through the season before he picks up the mantle for good

I know the itk is meant to be taken with a pinch of salt but from what we've been hearing over the last few days it seems as though we still haven't actually figured out who we definitely want. Bit worrying at this point in the window. Targets are changing everywhere and we're looking at options still

If this is about today's ITK, there's no indication we're even looking at O Dembele. I'm sure those in charge know who our targets are.

More the last few days as a whole with the whole Grealish thing and then Zaha and martial and then Toby maybe staying and Dembele now likely staying. I think you're right but obviously I can only go on the information that we have. Seems a bit haphazard from the club don't you think? I like that we have multiple options but I'd rather us just push for someone at this point rather than still playing the field. Gotta commit at some point
