i am fed up with Harry keep going on about where spurs where 2 years ago and spurs fans should be happy, WE ARE!! but we are so close now, we just need that extra push over the line (a top striker) the last top top striker we had in my opinion was Jurgen Klinsman and that is what we need now!! 6 Premier league goals between Keane, Defoe, Crouch and Pav is NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!

Not getting a striker now because Harry wants Carroll in the summer to lead our Europa league run next season isn't cool.

We didn't have VDV then!

True, but Suarez is a striker and Rafa is an attacking midfield player. Suarez does drop deep but then so does Van Persie, Rooney etc.

One wonders whether signing Suarez and gambling on making CL again and therefore accumulating another £30-£40M would have been worth it.

Not signing anyone and leaving us with no goals Crouch and Defoe pretty much consigns us to the Europa Vase, and an enormous drop in turnover, meaning we actually lose a shitload of money by not spending.

Well the deal isn't dead and buried. Liverpool have agreed a fee, but Suarez is yet to agree personal terms. But if he does end up signing for Liverpool, I don't even think we were after him in the first place.
It could be quite testing for Liverpool, easily taking over a minute before Suarez decides he'd like to triple his wages and play for the record trophy winners in England.

Levy always tries to get the best deal on deadline day.

Be prepared for no striker

Welcome.

This is all very true, unfortunately some people just want a signing for the sake of it like you say, ignoring whether the signing is right for us or not.

We need someone, those 4 sacks of shit masquerading as professional footballers are not going to get us the goals to make 4th, we don't make 4th the consequences are terrifying, Levy too if the wallet is closed is being shortsighted, better to spend £30m now and make CL than spend nothing now and stagnate, the real money is in the CL

this is bullshit. if the window is panning out the way it sounds like then im gonna be more pissed off than ever. We finally end up at this 'promised land' of the champions league, and do fuck all to cement it.

I know this is knee-jerk and if we sign benzema et al by monday then im happy to admit this post is ridiculous but if our 6 all season strikeforce are seen as good enough then fuck me when have some problems.

 some people make me embarassed to be a spurs fan. Man up will ya.

Its real money in real life. If the players we want aint available at the right price then I'm afraid we'll just have to stick with the 5 international strikers with over 250 caps between em.

Its gonna be so hard for us!

i trust harry and his coaching staff. apart from that im afraid i have to disagree abit! every man and his dog can see we need a striker. i dont need to tell harry and staff that. so harry passes buck over to mr chairman, comes out today and says all top players we chat to are on 130.000.00 a week or more. thats all well and good and to be honest i dont give shit what they are on. WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT? liverpool are not in champs league and prob wont be for few years to come yet 20 minutes ago go out and spend 24 million on a striker. our club has been crying out for striker for best part of 18 months imo and we done fuck all about solving it, good intentions or not.... the time for talk is well over.. even in champions league and great chance of quarter finals we still cant attract a top top striker... sad days...

I thought we had 4:shrug: (VDV is a attacking midfielder). Them other 4 you mention have 6 league goals Between them this season, YES SIX!!!

last season at any one point we were fourtunate enough that each of our strikers hit purple patches. I think I'm right in saying that they all had a hatrick at one point or another.

At no point this season have they gathered momentum enough to gain some solid form.

I do agree with you 6 Goals is a shocking return for our strikeforce, but I dont beleive it to be a true reflection on their ability. Form is temporary and all that....

I'm not having a go at you or any ITK. But our strikers are being questioned, and damn right if you ask me. 5 goals in 56 appearances between 4 of them. That's shocking, and the performance expected of strikers in teams battling relegation, not a team competing for the title supposedly. Kevin Davies, Piquionne, and Rodallega have scored more. Marlon Harewood has that money.

Diabolical. If there is all this money as we have discussed by supposed proof of us being willing to bid for Dzeko, and previously bidding for Suarez, then I can't understand why we are loaning to buy.

Can Levy risk not buying a striker with all the OS unrest? Are the 2 things connected? We move to OS and Levy buys a striker or we don't move and Levy sits on his hands?

I still think Liverpool will finish above us now with that strike force, That is of course as long as they keep Torres, Watch that one with interest now, Could be why Luis isn't going to Chelsea now as they might have the go ahead for Torres.
