I knew he would come to his senses. Probably all over blown tabloid bullshit anyway.

Somebody said they had it from the horses mouth (Harry) that the Rossi deal was good to go, all but sewn up, and Levy dropped the offer at the last minute derailing the deal...and then returned at the end of the window with his suitcase of cash...

It was at the tail-end of last night, was from someone on another forum and was backed up by A&C and a couple of others but the guy had his figures wrong. Either way, it would very much appear that it was agreed, and DL tried to lowball them, which pissed them off something rotten and left us with no movement in that crucial January window (which ultimately may well have cost us our CL place).

Levy had a deal agreed for Rossi, but then went back and tried to barter, that's what messed it up.

Or something like that.

Of course, none of the Levy fanboys are having it though
Bear who is the source of that info....?

Even if we had a deal agreed for him that does not mean he would have signed for us.....

Peanut on COYS re this: He never stops working. He's 24/7 all year round, will be on his phone emailing and texting throughout his 'holiday'. DL is allowed a life and a family. His parents live in Florida and he's got kids at school and university who want to see their grandparents.

I can confirm one of these statements is correct the other is not.

I assume its the bit about him being allowed a life. We know that's a lie especially during a transfer window.

T.T.I.D added this (via COYS)...

....GFTS

Mata

I'm assuming that means Mata...which isn't going to happen unless Arsenal pull out.

Pessimist

Okay but he's not as good as Mata

Just seen this on COYS regarding Ben Alnwick...

he is training with middlesbrough with a view to a permanent deal.

Shame they have to see him train before he signs, they won't want him then lol

Bye Bye Ben

Levy has a plan to improve the club, don't you worry. Scouting network is a MAJOR part of that, along with youth development, the new training facilities and a new stadium.

Great. Is CL and a decent striking partner for VdV & Pav?

I'm a DL fan boy and I can beleive it. I also believe Harry was stupid as fook to overlook Suarez, but the Harry fan boys would have you believe that was someone else's fault  Name calling oh so mature... it can go on all day with all the conflicting ITK out there on both DL & HR

We shouldn't really have an issue with this but common sense would say to either take the holiday during the first 2 weeks of August or during the first 2 weeks of September. Not during the busies period. But like all managers they will delegate
The children have school in the first two weeks of September.

BEN re: luca (sic)

Maybe he's starting to think to himself 'were Chelsea really that seriously interested in me?'

I mean, with the reported bids of £22m, £25m and £30m 'take it or leave it', you could hardly blame him.

I reckon if the chavs had started bidding at £30m, Luka would have pushed harder for the move and we'd of sold. IMO.

Has POTL contributed anything recently other than laughing (class btw) at other people's ITK?

How many times does this need to be said:shrug:

He has invested a huge amount of time, effort and resources into it.

The fact that it hasn't produced any 28 YO at-their-peak strikers yet is hardly cause to be labelling it a failure - it is still in its relative infancy (I don't think the training facilities are even finished, are they?).

Let's just see how he goes with a full season before you label the buck toothed, diving, spitting, horrible bastard some kind of goalscoring genius.

VDV is better and JD is capable of matching his goals tally, I'm unsure how much you saw of him at Liverpool to think we missed out so badly to be honest.

Maybe GFTS are initials of players we've lined up on something rather than something as vague as goals from the side?
Never said that so i would appreciate it if you just stuck to the facts.....

unfortunately this is as likely as me enjoying a 4 way with Kate Winslet, Christina Ricci and Natalie Portman.

But even JD can dream of scoring again. Goal 105 should only take another 8 months & 1200 minutes on pitch or so

We all need to get a grip on things here - we still, last time I checked, have a fantastic squad, and probably the best we've had in decades - that still includes the strikers who we universally want to upgrade on.

We will be competitive this year but we also have to be realistic in what we can achieve in the short term - we won't be winning the title, or realistically close enough to be considered true challengers, but i'm certain we will be in the race for a Champions League berth right till the death and that has to be our main objective and also one that is definately achievable, regardless of Liverpool's spending.

We will also be in with a great shout to add some silverware this year and that would be fitting for a side like ours who are more than capable of being not only competitive on the league front, but all cup competitions too.

My main concern isn't Levy's apparent tight-fistedness which I just read as taking the sensible approach to running a club well financially but more Harry's approach to how best to combat a season that will be long and arduous, but hopefully rewarding.

Is anyone else not worried by the news that Levy won't stump up £2 million more to sign Vucinic, This is a very worrying development if its true.

Why are you suprised? its really not rocket science the way we go about business. There is people on here for months banging on aboput harry and his indecivessness when in fact it was by all accounts club and levy himself. Never been fan of those in charge of spurs, prob never will either but if you were to play back jan dealine day even harry was laughing at the whole levy in spain nonsense. He knew he was pissing against wind.

You obviously prefered the days under Irving Scholar and Alan Sugar where we were on the brink of going out of business and then scrapping with the FA on this that and all the other? Sugar saved the club and then decided it was taking too much of his own wealth. ENIC and Levy have grown our club to its greatest foundation EVER.

Don't know mate, but it was backed up by a couple of people on here, think it was last night.

Still doesn't mean it's true, but it's a different angle so to speak.

You'd just prefer him to Pav, Crouch, JD and VDV (Keane hardly got a kick for us last year)? All of whom scored more goals than him last season in English football/Europe.

Was he the player we need or not? Make your mind up. I don't think he was, hence why we didn't buy him.
