Beharino, Kramer/McCarthy and Werner would still be massive.

Shift ade and chiri (if townsend doesn't go this window I think he'll be off in Jan) and this window becomes a beast for us in terms of balancing the team and ejecting unwanted/undesired elements.

The one other thing I've heard from Mason's mate, is that Townsend is going nowhere. He's been told he is very much in Poch's plans, and is simply injured at the minute (shoulder or something I think?).

No, A&C. The tweet in question was straight from the selling clubs mouth. Sorry, but I believe that has more credibility and is the one we should be listening to here.

Not really, it was from the club social media teams mouth. It would not be the first time the media department of a club has jumped the gun, so to speak, and made a comment that wasn't endorsed by the board or was from a lack of knowledge of the real goings on. Unless it's from the club Chairman's twitter account I would hesitate to take it as gospel, I highly doubt the media department know everything that happens in negotiations between clubs.

Last thing we ever do is agree a fee with the club, so that's a good sign: implies everything else has been sorted!

I'll give Berahino a fair crack of the whip, but he reminds me too much of Defoe to be fully on board. Hope he proves me wrong.

Did you forget how many goals Defoe scored for us? If Berahino scores just as many, nobody will be complaining!

It does usually take a few weeks to sort out a deal, but how do you know that we haven't been working on this deal for a month already? I'm not really expecting this to happen tomorrow, but I take club tweets with he same pinch of salt that I use for ITK.

That was my point - their club tweet is effectively the first stage of their fan management when losing their star player. They haven't even said that they won't sell him (which would be a bolder statment at this stage) but that they haven't had a bid. Next up we'll probably here that they've turned down our bid, repeat this a few times and then finally when they sell it looks like they've put up a good fight with us.

"No bid" doesn't mean "no expressed interest" or "no informal talks." You're putting WAY too much stock in a club's exact public wording, which is usually very carefully crafted.

No I am not. You're misinterpreting what I am saying. If there has been no bid then it is VERY hard to believe that an agreement between us and them is "imminent." If a deal comes, it will not be in the coming days as is suggested. Im not saying we're not going to get him.

Please bear in mind however that my 'ballsout' strike rate is one in every twenty testicular outages.

Too inconsistent? Eh? He is a very consistent player. But he is consistent at providing absolute fuck all to the team. So i agree with you. I dont see him being a part of Poch's plans. I dont think we'll have a winger by the deadline, and if we do it'll be Yedlin or Oduwa.
