Ings is a cracking player. I can't think of anyone else who would complement Kane and a Poch system better.

I can think of a few. We need quality players - not another average type that might warm the bench. We have too many of those already.

There's bound to be cheaper options abroad who do fit the system, if Ings goes elsewhere. The problem is, as we found out, the success rate is lower when you haven't seen them do it in the PL.

In regards to JJ's info, interesting we're targeting overseas, as didn't poch make a comment about going pl experience with signings?

Jasper seemingly confirming the media story on Ings, but I'm still going with JJ's shout that it's a long shot. We've been under the impression he's going to Liverpool since Christmas.....

Maybe Danny boy can turn him tho...?!?

Think it may be tough but who knows.

You have to figure that Ings wants to play....and I am sure we are saying you will play, we have league matches, 2 cups and Europas and only Kane....but looking at us and LFC you have to figure that, aside from LFC's tradition of giving away massive contracts at every chance, most people would fancy their chances of getting in the squad more often when Sturridge ends up crocked (for 6 months) walking from the car park to the boot room compared to being on the same squad as Kane who is England's new golden boy....

He said he would prefer prem signings. But I guess if our targets are unobtainable then there is no point signing average prem players just for the sake of it.

Yup, but that not mean every player if nobody is suitable - so if we are buying 5 players and 2 come with no PL experience that might still fit what Poch said

You think we'll spend £40m for a first choice CF then and relegate Kane to the bench?

Do we think he can't declare who we want it means they are important players that others may sniff around also?

There's a lot to like about Ings, but I won't be on suicide watch if he signs for Liverpool. I'd prefer Mirallas anyway, as well as a true number 9 to compete with Kane. Give Ade away, flog Soldado and job done.

Please don't talk about players we've not been linked with in this thread.

Cheers

Why an earth are you guys getting yourselves into a flap about Ings.

What we desperately need is more craft in the final third not more running around clucking.

He's a worker and he's got a bit of pace but he's not what any team in our position needs.

We need quality not just an attacking busy ****

But Ings is our back-up CF - and perfect for that

The player you describe is the first choice LWF we will hopefully sign later in the summer
