I’m not sure the manager will be that happy if we are planning on signings in the middle or end of July. That is not getting our business done early.

Wonder if we're after any 'attacking third' players who haven't been named in the press yet - feel like Matt Law especially has his finger on the pulse this summer. He's named Martial, Zaha, Pulisic and Sessengon but we've already been made aware of those targets.

Herc's said before he's actually pretty well connected...

Out of those zaha and martial are the realistic ones and even then zaha is on everyones radar except united (they have already had a crack at destroying the lad) ... pusilic is a revenue wet dream for most teams and looks the real deal as well - sadly we may not be attractive enough, sess is a different proposition and whilst id love him to play for spurs i would also think him a shallow sod if he did move after getting to the prem with the team that made him what he is.... id love to see zaha and/or martial become something special with us proving once again that united can no longer create good players

Hate even mentioning Liverpool but they have seemingly agreed on a deal for Fabinho in what seems like 24 hours. I wonder what that feeling is like, signing someone quickly and having set targets/discussions before the window opens and just get them over the line with no fuss. Must be nice.

I split them into two categories of type of players we're trying to sign.

Attacking players with the capability to also play through the middle: Martial and Zaha

Young wingers, who can also play other roles (but not through the middle) with massive potential: Pulisic and Sessengon

I really don’t know why people are getting edgy. Let’s wait and see. I am optimistic, and I go along with Trix’s post/s. Does not mean that is set in stone to happen to the book, and neither does it say it won’t.

For my Pennetg worth, I am convinced we will complete very close to 2 deals before end of July. More clearer, by middle of July. That is my OPINION based upon what I know and hear.

Do you think you could specify a date and time please as people are getting edgy? ;) Just an am or pm would do, like a delivery. Thanks.*

*that’s a joke btw, before people start thinking I’m ITK bashing.

ITK indicating a return to the norm for our transfer business.
Tried to get business done early but all gone quiet. Same old.
I’m just holding onto the ITK that suggested Poch would only sign if guarantees were made about getting targets in.
Same old? Not even June yet.....

Hopefully the names not in the media yet are CMs, as it the most important position for us to improve this season. Most of the ones mentioned are either unrealistic or uninspiring.

We might hear some transfer news regarding Zaha in the media over the next few days. Not sure if it’s positive news for Spurs.

The change in tone from ITK has been drastic - not their fault, they report what they know. Unbridled optimism, to cautious pessimism.

But @Hercules you tell your sources that Lex from the Internet is not impressed. That will show them!
I think we’re also desperate to see that there has been a shift in the way we operate, especially in deference to Poch’s new contract and his previous comment. Liverpool signing 2 quality CMs doesn’t exactly help that.

It is of course still very early days, but until we see otherwise we will always expect what we have been given in the past. All the positive words won’t help!

This "Before August" thing. Could it not simply be a case that the players we want are going to be playing in the World Cup, so can't be completed until afterwards? The World Cup finishes on July 15th, couple of weeks holiday, back just before August to complete the transfer.

Or is that too simplistic?
