While it’s not impossible, it’s highly improbable De Ligt will be worth less in two months than he is now. And as an agent, if you sold now you’re not using MONTHS of auction time.

Edit: example—Dortmund aren’t going to take a lower price on Pulisic because some new hot winger performed well for a few games this summer. And teams don’t have the memory of goldfish to forget Pulisic just bc he wasn’t in the WC.

Alternatively, if your player didn't go to the world cup you would probably want to deal now as they may become less in demand come July.

Not for the more in demand players that aren't going.. The ones that aren't demanding the big fee's I'd agree but the big clubs that have 3 or four options on positions will all be looking at the same players. If they miss out on their primary targets(that won't move now) they will go to their fall back options. They will be speaking to the agents of those players and they will hold on to see if they can get that big move one way or another.

Like I said throwing money at them could get them to move early but we are not a club that will overspend or grease the wheels in order to do that.

Like the rest of you guys im beside myself in anticipation of a shiny new bauble who i hope will transform spurs into a title winning side, like you all i look at the ITK news snippets with excitement at what those potential buys could bring to the table, like you all i want to cram bale, martial and pusilic into our starting line up with a view to readopting ardiles' we will score more than you tactics..... unlike quite too many of you however, i understand the concept of the ITK and that it is merely a snapshot of what the club is trying to do and who we are looking at - its not june yet and theres already comments worrying about 9th august deadline hahahaha .. the sun is out and im far more edgy about the effect of pouring jd down my throat all afternoon and the chances i have of being available for selection at work tomorrow .... chill guys its monday evening (beginning of the weekend)

Not for the more in demand players that aren't going.. I wasnt really referring to the likes of Martial or Savic, I’m sure they will have enough clubs after them already that the World Cup probably won’t have much effect. Was more talking about lesser known targets.

Despite my severe lack of ITK skills, if I piece together what has been said about the Alder situation along with Poch saying being brave, it seems to me that Alder will be pushed to united as quickly as possible and we will negotiate for Martial coming our direction whilst also securing our CB target.

Wonder if we're after any 'attacking third' players who haven't been named in the press yet - feel like Matt Law especially has his finger on the pulse this summer. He's named Martial, Zaha, Pulisic and Sessengon but we've already been made aware of those targets.
