ali z
on pulisic: never heard his name mentioned but could be added in or be one of Daniels opportune buys/attempts.
on the 50m player: Heard we had a £50 m deal being negotiated for one not been able to get name, checked back this evening and it's not Fabinhio.
on paying players 200k/w and bales destination: You will see our best players on about that by August ..... not saying we are getting Bale just saying no chance chelsea.
The £200k figure is correct. I mentioned last week it’s already been offered to 2 players.

If Joe Louis was opening a £ 1 billion pound Casino in Las Vagas......Wouldn't you expect him to open it with a couple of top billing star attraction's . I think he will do that with the opening of our new stadium.
true but i cant see why a dead American boxer would be opening a casino in Las Vegas

They'd be the sensible ones to start on. Maybe Vertonghen, but probably not at 31?

It's a good sign if we're paying those kind of wages. Means we might be able to get deals done earlier.

With the wage cap as it is/was I always got the impression players were waiting to see what else comes up later in the window. Listen I do think we're prone to dithering, but I think that was a mitigating factor. It makes sense for a player and his agent to wait in those circumstances.

All I can hope for now is that the funds and wages get spent on players we actually need.

In regards to AliZ’s ITK about 50 mill deal being negotiated, the only names we have ITK on at that probable cost is Martial, DeLigt, and Pulisic, correct? And he said he hasn’t heard anything about Pulisic.

I would be stunned if we offered anyone else that figure. I don’t think Vertonghen is even one of the highest earners so trebling his salary in very unlikely.

Why are people getting worries about us not signing Someone already? Players are generally on holiday the first 2 weeks after a season ends. By start of June as @Grey Fox had said would be about right. Players Will be relaxing before they do anything. Like a bunch of bed wetters in here this morning

I think we also need to be careful about placing too much emphasis on the world cup and when that starts. As far as I've seen, the majority of our targets mentioned in the media/ITK are not even going to the world cup.

I'm sure there may be other targets that will be there but ultimately there is plenty of business that can be done whilst the tournament is going on.

And the same could work the other way. If we sell a player we deem surplus to requirements, say Dembele, for instance. Any club that has a player that we want to replace Dembele, will almost certainly demand more of a fee because 1, they know we need to replace a valuable player. And 2, they know we've just been given £X million for a player we didn't want.

Just for a bit of balance to that theory, the same could be said on reverse. For example, we go out and spend £50m on de Ligt, suddenly buying clubs who already know we're looking to offload Toby, would now believe we've overextended our squad, and will need/want to trim out a wage for a player who's just got even less likely to play.
I think there are some elements of truth to both theories, it's a game of risk. Ultimately, that's what I took from the ITK and Poch comments about being bold, that we are looking to resolve incomings first based on taking the above risk on the chin.
Previously we've tried to keep the incoming and outgoing deals close enough together not to get stung, but this pushes the transfers back and back, delaying one deal to get the timing on the other.

Great news about the wages being offered to our top players. This certainly is a cause for optimism
