Maybe Fabinho was the £50m midfielder Ali z mentioned before that we were negotiating for that all went quiet on? It’s being reported as €50m by some outlets and without working it out £44m does seem roughly €50m

So true and folk forget it takes both sides to agree to make a deal. So if one side is waiting say until after the World Cup there is little that can be done.

on paying players 200k/w and bales destination: You will see our best players on about that by August ..... not saying we are getting Bale just saying no chance chelsea.

Apparently Mourinho has admitted he wants Bale but he's too expensive even for them, talk of a deal being upward of £300m including wages. Safe to say we have no chance in that case which is a real shame.

Martial still feels like a viable option and Pulisic rumours are gathering pace, I'd be surprised if we were in for both.

No idea who the 50m central midfielder is but I know who I want it to be. With LFC signing Fabinho it arguably takes them out of the CM market which can't be a bad thing. They've already got Keita coming in so highly unlikely they would rival us for anyone else in that position.

Whilst I don't disagree with you guys, I was told Poch had certain promises made to him including funds available and early business, Levy knows Poch will leave next summer if he is not happy with the summers work, he will tow party line whatever happens but then be off, he wants to compete at the top table which means risks being taken and whilst I am not expecting 100 m net spend I do expect a decent net spend and deals to be concluded for our current players and some early business, like you guys am cynical.

This is exactly my fear.
Poch comes across as a decent bloke who will stick to his principals and ideals. While he may have signed a new contract and come across as a loyal company man, I can easily see him resigning this time next year on point of principal should he not get the targets he was promised.

The only shred of comfort is that you have to believe that Levy is obviously a very clever man and will know the outcome should he not back Poch.

All in all, ive not a clue what's going to happen and all is as clear as mud.
