dont know if it was a wind up but rumours doing the rounds on another MB that twitter is alive with the sound of the above and a meeting between DL & LM.....could this tie in with what wpd659 just hinted re Gomes?

I can 100% tell u the young keepers we were looking at are clubs current number 1's Not in the premiership.

Me hint about gomes leaving!! I would never hint at something like that :wink:

Can't see it. Nothing personal/critical of your information - I just can't see us doing any substantial business this late in the window.

Maybe Palacios out and a mediocre Redknapp signing (Parker, Bellamy or Cole) in and that'll be it.

What I have said throughout is that one of the most conspicuous elements of all of these mooted cash + player deals is that not one of them has included McEachran, who would be the most obvious one to offer us. £35 M + and a young and developing play-maker in exchange for the finished product. Now if Chelsea and Modric had gone about things the right way, I would consider that to be a fair deal...



...but they haven't, so they can go to feck.

Watchya SP - have you changed your mind? I thought you were prepared for hell to freeze over rather than sell LM in order to maintain DL's rep - have you been worn down :grin:

10 mill for Pav would be good money. If he and Crouch do go I can see us giving a little more money for Leandro Damiao and getting him now rather than in January.

As for the scouting, as indicated that will surely be for targets in future windows, in fact I'd wonder what the hell our scouts are doing not watching players!! Do people think the scouts only go to games when we are about to put in a bid for a player?

I'd be pretty happy if we get rid off a few players without replacing right now, I'd rather we had space in the squad to finally just add one or two players in January or next summer, then end up with more panic buys or overpriced players who we then struggle to shift when we realise they werent worth it and we needed better anyway.

The thing is my ITK source told me we really need to get players out fast to get down to the 25 man squad rule and DL doesn't want to pay a player that isnt in the 25 man squad! so he is willing to take his asking prices down alot for players on high wages and other clubs know this! we have had alot of enquiries for our fringe players but our asking prices were sky high! but now DL realises clubs wont pay these prices and is now dropping prices drastically! and trying to send players on loan with options to buy. and we do wana bring at least 2 players in before the window shuts harry has even said it himself! so we need to sell ASAP....

If we go right back to the first Chelsea bid of £22m and DL's public response to it of which he is being held to keep his word, he said no amount of money will see Modric being sold to any club and specifically not Chelsea.

Furry muff. Good for him. Hopefully when he is sold, whichever window that is - Jan or next summer - we are even prepared to knock a mill off the price to put a clause in the contract that prevents the buying club selling to Chelsea in the future as well. Not that I'm a petty man or anything.

apologies for the source and everyone probably knowing it already but on the sky website it says we are in for Owen Hargreaves - the reason i mention is that it would make sense in view of Hudd potentially having ongoing injury issues and Sandro being out as well

I second that. Given that he is in the last year of his contract I am suprised there havent been rumours about him, especially when we extended Cudo's contract AND bought Friedel. We should offer him a new contract, if we havent already, cos it will be hard to get someone better IMO. Should easily be our no1. Can't see him wanting to sign now though.

There was also ITK a few days ago I think on us letting his contract run down, using Friedel as No1 this year and going all out on a top keeper next summer.

Why don't you state all this in your original post. I mean, you seem to have a lot of info, yet, questions are constantly asked, and you have to spend many posts answering and elaborating.
