I dont think we will sign a striker until we know on wednesday if Togo qualify for the next round as they may mean Adebayor will be back for Saturday if he leaves on Thursday morning

I don´t think we base our striker search whether Ade will be missing a couple of extra weeks.

I happen to think that Michu does indeed look a good player but let's see if he is still scoring in what's left of this season and next before we describe him as awesome.

Do you remember Marcus Stewart? To a lesser extent Kevin Philips. Both had very good first seasons in the PL and then faded.

Spanish clubs should have been aware of him, even if you weren't. His stats last year were impressive.

Laudrup knew of him and his contract situation. He was used to shopping at the low end of the market.

It is worrying that the big names are now hitting the press.

Is this just the usual PR stunt we have come to expect from our transfer windows?

Short answer is yes, expect the club to increase the hype over the next few days culminating in the proverbial:

- fax machine broke
- ran out of time
- complex third party ownership
- difficult selling club

Pretty much everything other than the truth which is that we had no intention of paying the required amount.

You are guessing, just like anyone who says he will settle straight away.

If we can get Leandro now, then it is a no brainer as far as I can see, as AVB wants him, he scores goals and has the potential to get a lot better.

I isn't gonna happen though is it dude? I mean really, how long have we been chasing this guy. Apart from a brief Four Four two interiew, in all of this time he's never issued a come and get me plea. The Inter guys don't seem desperate to sell. The World cup is in his home country in 18 months time, where i'm pretty sure he will want maximum exposure in Brazil to get in the team.

I just don't see the point in this anymore.

I don't think it will happen either, but people saying "what's the point he will need 6months to settle" are guessing, as we just don't know if he would or not.

If AVB wants him and it is not stopping us looking into other deals then we should continue to pursue him until the Committee deem it unwise
