Could do with these ITK people keeping ear to ground re trade outs too as this squad is approaching critical.

@danieljohn4 @Adam79Suter ha ha not yet ;0)
Pls

Plan A is Toby IMO. I seem to remember a few years ago JJ posted similar (Plan D) before we signed Dembele & Dempsey.

I'm afraid I'm not as excited as everyone else about signing yet more defenders. We did that last window and it got us nowhere. As has been said many times, unless we buy the best set of defenders in the world we will continue to leak goals until our manager can organise them into an effective unit.

I do hope we're not spending too much on Toby and a DM, because with money at Spurs always being very tight it doesn't give us much scope to fix the problems in the squad at the other end of the pitch.

Oh bloody hell, that's got me excited. I suppose there could be any number of reasons we've not tied up a Plan A player, perhaps they're still on holiday or they are playing in the Copa America thing.

If there is a end that needs fixing - that's defense. We gave away as many goals as Hull & Burnley. I am happy that we are looking at defensive signings. In attacking end, thanks to Kane, Eriksen & Chadli we have three10+ goals scorers - not many PL club could say that last season.

Well if Plan A is in fact not MS then it flies in the face of everything we've been led to believe re targets.

If we do sign Toby is that going to piss off Southampton to the point that we can kiss goodbye to any MS deal?

Please don't get so carried away, team.

Patience innit.

It never ceases to amaze me that SC is full of John Nash-types. Reading so much into little snippets of conversation and wildly blowing them out of proportion.

So much stuff is created just by willing it to be there.

The "plan A" could simply be a reference to the fact that there are a number of people within the same class as MS that we are in advanced talks with (which sits with the other info we have had on our approach), and that losing out on MS wouldn't necessarily mean a Plan B or Plan C player coming in instead (as in "of lesser ability").

Fair enough. I think anybody would agree that the defence needs fixing. I just don't think the answer is always buying defenders. A good coach can organise a defence full of half decent players into more than the sum of their parts.

It's a little harder to do that at the other end of the pitch where individual match winners play a bigger role.

To really fix the defence, we need a DM.

The entire nature and foundation of this site is for its users to get carried away, especially in the ITK threads.

Yeah but it gets really tiresome cleaning up all the mess you guys leave. I mean blood, faeces, semen and that's just A&C's trousers.

Yep. That and some damn hard work on the training ground to get us organised. With our full backs just bombing on, as soon as we lose the ball the opposition just has a free run at our back four.

Also, the whole team needs to do more off the ball and defend better as a team, that should start from the front. Until we see more of that our defense will continue to be brittle regardless of the personnel.

That said, I hope we are in for him TA, I rate him and the fact that he's played with Jan is a big plus IMO. Understanding and harmony between players is greatly undervalued IMO.
