Am still meh with the latest ITK.how are we the club that spends all window trying for player x where as other clubs just seem to identify targets and then sign them. We always end up panick buying players that are conviently available (ie because they are poor) then spend the next how many windows trying to move the last windows panick buys on.rinse and repeat. Not feeling confident on jj's news at all.seem to end up in this late rush every window.

Because that's just the perspective you have on other clubs. Doesn't mean they're any different behind the scenes

Is it possible that the Zaha deal could be dead because there’s been development with the Martial deal, also freeing up funds to talk to Grealish again? Player A becomes available again so player B gets dropped and we get players A and C??

The latest ITK doesn't say anything about panic buying, or that the target isn't one we've been working on the entire window.

We've got a week to go and it seems that we have a transfer strategy in place. We know our targets and assumingly know what it will take to get them.
We keep forgetting that other clubs are still desperate to get players in and the appeal of Llorente, Janssen, N'Koudou etc is increasing as we get closer to the deadline. Teams like Burnley, Palace and Watford who are at risk of relegation may help us by bidding on our unwanted 'proven' Premier League players - giving us the squad space and extra funds to help us get our targets across the line.
It's a game of chess between twenty clubs. Levy's waiting for the first pawn to move.

Watching this transfer window really makes me regret putting Levy in charge of my love life.

Thanks for everything though. This site is amazing and so funny. Donation to come whatever we end up with.

If Levy was in charge of your love life - hookers would be paying you

Those of you who think we only start negotiating a week before deadline, are playing to much Football manager or plain nuts.

I'm still Mr Optimistic.
I think the issue that a lot of people have is not just the lack of signings, but the fact that once more our potential new signings won't get a pre-season to bed in.

Thanks for the info.

I think some people think the only stuff going on is what is reported here as ITK, that nothing else is going on behind the scenes.

I think DL's rep in negotiations might be to our detriment, that along with his stubbornness to change make every single deal we are involved in difficult where opposing clubs are concerned.

This transfer window has more twists and turns than an M Night Shyamalan movie. Hopefully it will end up more Sixth Sense than The Happening. Cheers Trix and Herc for the continuous updates.
More Sixth Sense? As in “I see dead people”?

You don’t follow other clubs ITK so you haven’t got a clue when the player is identified or how long it takes to sign them.

In the real world there are not many players who might have joined in the last few weeks and started against the Toon. We don't operate that way. If push comes to shove players that appeared at the World Cup can play some kind of a role on the opening day of the season. There is no need to imagine that we won't sign decent players or that we will have a poor season. Just chill.
