Very exciting.

Given the way we've clearly allocated a lot of cash for this window and want to make a point of backing Conte I was thinking there could be a big, wildcard, statement signing to top things off.

In going cheap in other positions (Spence, Perisic, Lenglet, Bissouma) and making cash from sales, there's certainly scope for us to make another big signing without breaking the bank.

It's the type of thing that Spurs of old never ever would have done, but might be the kind of statement that convinces Conte to sign a new contract and let other clubs know we're not fucking around this time.

If we don't do it then I'll be very happy regardless but would be the cherry on top of an already fantastic window.

Yep, this is key for me too. All well and good making sensible, cheap signings given how many gaps there are to fill but you still need to sign one or two players of genuine quality who offer something none of the other starters do. Hoping that's a top CB and a top CM/AM still (ie not Tielemans)

Some of the CM/AM names being hinted at are ones I thought we'd have no chance of a year or two ago... ?

makes more sense then to go for them then Tielemans. Having Conte is an opportunity that is hard to come by.

Was good last season for Inter, but I always had question marks about how Calhanoglu would do in the PL. I think he’d struggle tbh, he’s a player who likes to take his time on the ball and he’s light weight. I’d also be surprised if Inter let him go.

We were linked with Calhanoglu when he was at Hamburg, way back in 2014 or thereabouts. I seem to remember he had scored some outrageous long-distance free-kicks in his early career that we were all very excited about. He'd be an interesting option - lots of goals & assists in his game.

Where does this Kajagoogoo play?

He’s an AMC, was at AC Milan until last season when he moved to Inter. Excellent set piece taker but i really don’t think he’s suited to the physicality or the speed of the PL.
