This one has stuck with me since last night. Getting a bit confusing as to who said what last night but there was mention of a player who 'made a mistake' he now regrets and another club being furious if we pulled it off.

His current absurd wages wouldn't matter if he feels he made a big error going to China. He'll have collected north of 20m in one year in China. We almost bought him before Chelsea who came in and made an offer that was more than double ours so we have had long standing interest. Chelsea would perhaps be furious if he came back to the PL with us.

Long long shot, but hey ho
You may be right that if he feels he's made a big mistake then he would be willing to forego the huge wages, but to come to spurs on half the wages he was getting at Chelsea is something else.

That my friend would be too beautiful to ever have a chance of being possible. Having said that there were a few newspaper reports at the time quoting Poch saying that he couldn't believe Oscar was off to China. It's a lovely idea and I would love you to be right but...

Meh. I'm not usually at all prone to flights of fancy, I'll allow myself one slip

We do tend to retain long interest in certain players. We almost had Oscar for around 12m at the start of AVBs reign before Chelsea waded in with a 20m plus offer.

As others have said though, it's most likely not possible. I'll stop at this point.

You could see Daniel getting them to pick up a % of his wage; anyway I guess we need to see how this plays out

I don't remember who said it but this was one person's hunch/flight of fancy and not specific ITK and he admitted as much. I am pretty sure as it stands now all we 100% have is interest in a 3rd GK Gazzaniga confirmed and someone else which Spurs internally feel, whether we agree or not, warrants caution and secrecy in an effort to sign. Spurs could well think Simeone or one of that ilk warrant that level of secrecy even if we think they're lowkey enough not to.

I think Grey Fox has unintentionally inspired a run of wild fantasy by making us all think we're signing a worldbeater rather than a good player lots of people might be tracking as well and we want to make sure we finish.

If Ben is right, i honestly cannot believe I'm gonna have to owe SC £30 for signing Gazzaniga(if he's announced first before this supposed other guy).

For £30, you could probably have signed Gazzaniga yourself.
Has one seen A&C and Levy at the same time, whose to say therefore that that is not exactly what is happening here? ...oh the genius of it all.

As for the Oscar stuff? Nah, it's not ITk so I shall not dwell, but can't believe Chelsea would be "furious" by now. Surely they have moved on. Gareth Bale on the other hand... but er, just ain't happening and is not for here.

Alas with the 1904 not being an A&C cryptic (alas, that was quite clever with the whole Genoa thing), we still have little to nothing to go on, other than we know it ISN'T the Argentinian keeper. I'll add I do not think it is Barkley either, but it wouldn't surprise me that was "all" it was, even though most of us agree it's probably too public to warrant the secrecy.

Anyway, here is hoping for some more ITK tibbits later on to fee these hungry hippos lurking here, or better yet, the officla stamp of Stoof approval. Until then...

Only the way it was written made it seem that it was actually much more than that, and saying it was a 'guess' was more about covering peoples backs more than anything else. Thats how I interpreted it because it was not written like a hunch it was like, this my guess that i cant tell you about/when this happens you'll never believe me.
