I thought the benefit of having Poch was that we developed players rather than the revolving door policy we used to operate. I always thought Wimmer looked alright, hard to find an upgrade in this market.
I'd guess Wimmer wants to leave for playing time.

If Wimmer is gone then it's probably to Saints who were strongly linked. Gazzaniga probably a throw in during those discussions to get our 3rd choice keeper.

Foyth possibly the CB? Young, 4th choice behind JV, TA & ED but will still get plenty of action if he can earn Poch's trust.

RB will be the Italian connection probably.

Glad to see things are happening.

Maybe time for a new thread named 'just a hunch'. This would allow a forum for the misc . For example - drive to work was served at Macs by someone named Gareth and then being stuck in the road because there was a 'bale' of hay!

Who the hell is Max Hay?

Pretty sure JJ has implied the right back is not the Italian he's been talking about. A week or so ago he said Italian in addition to a right back.

Could definitely be the centre half though, de Vrij maybe?

Agreed apart from the Italian connection, JJs italian link is unlikely to be a right back as he said a RB, Barkley and Italian connection I believe.

Just to put it out there he's since clarified RB = Right Back and the CH = young Center Half

I think RB is Barkley. As the Gylfi transfers nears its conclusion so will the Barkley deal.

I think he'll be a cracking signing and with some good coaching from Poch and learning from Moussa, he'll really be able to make the CM role his own.
Could be the signing of the summer if he makes the most of his ability.

Made clear in an earlier post RB = Right Back

Think there's a bit of flexibility about our squad now, which Poch appears to prefer.
So assuming the RB indicated in the ITK is either Toljan or Pereira, their ability to also play LB free's Davies up to cover Wimmer's departure. Then a young player like Foyth coming in at CB is not under so much instant pressure. Also means Walker-Peters will not be blocked for game time.
For what it's worth I think the lack of movement over Foyth's PSG move makes me think there's still a deal to be done there.

Just leaves AM & RW/CF to sort. Fingers crossed that at least one of those is the player suggested by JJ and GF, probably the RW/CF as Barkley is most likely the AM and wouldn't need to kept under wraps since its splashed all across the media.

Only other name of young CB I've seen thrown about is Felip Benkovic from Dinamo. Not had any ITK name any CB's have we.

Doesn't sound too convincing a player to be replacing an established defender in Wimmer with. Hopefully i'm wrong.
But Wimmer isn't established any longer. He was on his way, but lost the trust of the gaffer, it would seem to me. Wimmer played so little last season, that he should be rather easy to replace.

Got to be Foyth. It sounds like he is holding out for us so I think we'll get him. Not too fussed about Wimmer who I think will struggle at Wembley anyway.
We haven't really been linked strongly to any right back other that Pereira which has gone really quiet. Hopefully we've been quietely getting that deal done.

At least it seems that things are happening now.
