It would be horrible to sell Toby to United, strengthening a rival and weakening ourselves two seasons running...

But then 55 million is massive for a player his age.

I don't think Levy shares our or the mentality of other clubs that you don't sell to rivals. If they are willing to pay his rival markup fee then he will sell.

I'm not sure about that. The last time we sold a player to a rival it was Berba to Utd and that was back in 2008!

I'm pretty sure there has been stories about how Levy is not interested in selling to our rivals unless the deal was absolutely too ridiculous to turn down.

If we were going to entertain Toby going to Utd......which makes me feel a bit sick......then it would surely have to be on the basis that Martial would come to us, particularly now that the interest in Rose has died off.

Yes, but I'm not sure Danny's prepared to pay the money for him, although I think he should, especially as he's high on Poch's list from what's been said in the past.

Yeah, I'm an old romantic at heart. If it ain't written in the stars that he should return to help us win the League in our new stadium's first year then it ruddy well should be!

This is starting to sound like there will be an 80's movie-esque montage of him exiled to Spain to learn a winning mentality and how to deal with a fickle crowd, only to return when we have a stadium, manager and team worthy enough (ie. now).

Just a shame he is even more injured now than just before he left when he was pretending to be injured...

I suppose I could make the rather tepid argument that it's still only 2 players in 10 years which is nowhere near the likes of Arsenal shipping a number of their best players off to City and Utd but I appreciate that when the deal is right, Levy will likely do it.

I'd love Zaha but not a priority. Same with Bale as well, lovely if he comes but we dont actually need him. For me its Centre Mid, maybe two, fullbacks, maybe two and a centre back if Toby goes, which he will.

Genuinely want us to buy someone before this sale. Not because I think it will happen but because the meltdown last summer after the Walker sale and subsequent weeks before we got Sanchez was genuinely just a nightmare to read.

United are going to be going all out for a top class CB anyway and we have two of those ourselves. Get De Ligt and that's 3.

I can live with Toby going to Barca. The lesser of the evils.

To me United need fullbacks and midfield help way more than they need a CB, they currently have 5 on their roster right now and had one of the best defenses in the league.
