From the Goat's info it just says Berahino could be signed by Saturday not that he would be signed in time to play, so we could sign him Friday night or even Saturday morning.

From the Goat's Gazebo

The Goat hears that Berahino and his 'people' are happy for him to move to Spurs. Having said that, his club are waiting to see if earlier interest from either Manchester club is followed up on. The Goat's source however, thinks there is a deadline, put in place by Spurs and his agent as both want to see this resolved and him settled, sooner rather than later.

Based on other information received, The Goat thinks this is something that once triggered, will resolve VERY quickly as some of the usual formalities have already been completed.

So, regarding the latest from the Goat, the deadline isn't going to be before this Saturday I assume?

One would surely expect that deadline to be Saturday by the latest - both logically and based on all other ITK we have received.

With United signing Depay & City signing Sterling, hopefully they won't bid.

With 'formalities' sorted, it sounds like his mind is pretty much made up too tbh, like Alderweireld's was. He wouldn't show his hand otherwise, I wouldn't have thought. Let's hope a fee is agreed and that the deadline is very soon.

Hopefully the deadline is Friday, and if all clear we can move quickly to wrap this up.

I hope the Goat is right but it seems very unlikely we will have the Beharino signing wrapped up for the United game. Especially as we haven't even had a bid accepted yet.

Hopefully i'm wrong but I just don't see it happening that quickly.

The cheek of Goat giving me a 'doh' rating for this. Get back in your pen Billy!

Cracking info from the goat. Only concern is how much power we have with a deadline, seeing as WBA are unlikely to be desperate to sell. Unless us possibly pulling out causes Berahino to put some pressure on.

I'd imagine the deadline will be this week before Saturday surely.

More importantly i would think WBA would give themselves a deadline to get this done. They need to replace him once the deal is done. So they cannot wait for an eternity for city or utd to come forward.

the next mc we buy must be the BEST mc in our team when he comes. no point buying another 'pretty good' mc, just to realise that he's not the right one to take us forward, then having to clear the deadwood and upgrade again. i genuinely hope that after we settle ade, sold ado and the 2 wf, + selling all other deadwood like lennon and somewhat fazio, with the freed up wages and remaining transfer budget, blow it all on a top class cm or at least a CM with the potential to be top class.

As for the rest of the month, we are facing rather light opposition, and if we haven't improved from last season in our ability to defeat certain types of teams, well then a far bigger job is needed beyond a couple of signings anyway.
This! Needed to be said ages ago!

All we need now is some serious ITK concerning a brand new central defensive midfielder to complete our full house.
