MELTDOWN!!!!! ;)

Thanks for the update Trix, I think the Barkley deal has all the hallmarks of agreeing a deal finally on the last day of the window. With only 1 year left I can imagine our bald man up above is looking for a very cut price deal, and with the inflated market this year Everton will be looking for top dollar! That's my two penny's anyway!

Lol no need for a meltdown. Once the clubs agree(and I'm very much of the opinion they will) it will happen pretty quickly, but last I heard Everton were still deliberately holding it up.

This smacks of the Berahino saga all over again. Player in last year of contract, selling club desperate for a bigger bid from somewhere else.

It does but what that taught everyone is that WBA lost out on cashing in their asset and we moved on. If Everton don't offload him, they're screwed in the same way Pearce screwed WBA with his obstinate approach and given how Everton are spending like a desperate sailor in the last brothel at the end of the world, they need to get rid.
If Barkley ends up at Chelsea, well then he wasn't that committed to working with Poch but everything we're hearing so far suggests he's set on coming to us. I actually think this is one of the rare occasions where it's worth holding our ground regarding fees- Everton are actually in a weak position and one that Levy was always going to exploit

Of course city have 50m sitting about lol..
It doesn't work like that, you can't think about it like your savings that you have immediate access to and is protected if a bank fucks up.

The money needs to be working for them, it goes straight into investments, be if commodities, forex, equities or a myriad of other products. Of course there is some money available but that's to pay staff and bills, when they want to make a transfer, they move a portion about and agree a payment structure.

Positive news coming through now. This has truly tested our patience and isnt an ideal way to approach the window, but with Levy its all about getting the best value, so when it comes to the end of the window, he may see it as a win for him. Poch certainly wont!

The delay of a week or so makes no difference as Barkley is currently injured & recovering anyway. RB is priority for now & need it in soon

Well, catching up on this thread this morning was a laugh-a-minute. Jeeeez.

Personally think SC has now overtaken twitter for melodramatic meltdowns so congrats to us all for that ;)

In all seriousness, nobody should be saying that we can't be frustrated. I'm frustrated too but can we not just be adults about it and not have tantrums? Like I've said before, if we get to 1st September and we've not added anyone then fair enough, go to town on Levy, the club and whoever else you like, but until then let's try and show some maturity and recognise that we've got things very good at the moment and signing players doesn't necessarily equal success. If it did then Man Utd would've won the league last season rather than finishing 6th.

ITK has suggested that we're still in for the same targets we were at the start. We also know that the market is bonkers and that's probably why we're waiting as long as we are. Yes, granted, we've got some issues at RB but it's not like Dier hasn't performed admirably in that position before and he can do it again.

Thread starter #393
I've set aside an hour to trawl through this thread getting rid of anyone who has spammed this thread. There's little point in explaining anything or issuing warnings, threatening to do this or to do that because it simply doesn't do any good, i'm just gonna do it and if you find yourself out don't waste your time in sending a PM or starting a thread complaining. Neither will get a reply.

Great news on Barkley.

Incidentally I was one of the many that was very apprehensive when were about to go into a season crying out for a DM yet we had the cheek to try Eric Dier out in that position in pre season.

Turned out pretty well by all accounts.

Poch knows what he's doing regards the RB situation I'm sure.
The difference is, he had what he needed already in the squad and we saw what he was thinking becasue he played Dier in DM during pre season. The fear was that most didn't know if Eric was up to it.

With regards to our RB, he hasn't suddenly been playing Sissoko there this summer, so there's no master plan at work here, he's stated that KWP isn't ready which leaves us with an injured Trippier... Even if he is fit he doesn't suit 352, which I happen to feel is us at our best.

We don't actually have the tools to effectively switch between the two formations as things stand, which was one of our strengths in the second half of last season.

So plan C is to move Dier there, but that will disrupt us in other areas of the pitch especially with Vic out.

I understand sitting tight on deals, although I don't nesesarilly agree with it, but RB is a position that we should have been ready to strengthen as soon as Walker was sold.

I know ITK suggests Poch thinks differently, but I think we need a fist choice RWB. Someone with pace and a player who can travel with the ball, as we were at our very best last season with Walker and Rose bombing down the flanks.

Even with a new signing, without pre-season, you think he will start? I think Wink and Dembele will start CM and Dier RB. Can't believe we score an own goal on this.:dead:
