The two main backup positions I could see us targeting in this window would be a keeper if Vorm goes, and more importantly an Eriksen backup. Villa's dire finances surely have Daniel licking his lips, and Grealish would certainly be considered "meh" by many, so that's my guess.

Could the meh player be Jonny Evans. Reported, in BBC gossip a few days ago, to be joining a 'top-six' team and fits the 'Who shot the sheriff' ITK. Would mean that de Ligt wouldn't be coming. Could be first choice in a back 3.

Sissoko, Llorente, Janssen level = mass suicide

Trippier, Davies = good but can be frustrating due to physical limitations

Could 100% see him, relatively unknown so some would see him as a "cheap option" or "meh" when in reality he's a top top prospect
