I think SC needs a Snickers today.

Summers waiting on Spurs news are always bad, until it's all good. Just like a player people slate one minute then will be cheering for the next.

It's too much like Minority Report in here sometimes - convicting players/Levy of something before they've even done it.

It's common knowledge DL is a piece of work when it comes to negotiation. Sir Alex Ferguson made that very clear. There's no debating the club has vastly improved under Levy's tenure, but there's also no denying he's been a prat on occasion too.

So everyone is right. We all love Spurs. Calm down.

Obviously if the Goat's ITK is true then it's all very worrying, but it does make me laugh how quick people are to come out and lambast Levy left, right and centre, whereas other ITK will always be treated with skepticism (particularly if it suggests Levy has done something right).

Personally it wouldn't surprise me if Levy was still messing around with fees etc, and I can see why Poch would get annoyed with that, but I'm prepared to give Levy the benefit of the doubt at this stage.

Where we are now compared to where we were when he took over is astonishing really, so I'm not going to get the pitchfork out just yet.

I must admit I'm concernded about Levy's transfer dealings, therefore my pitchfork is honed and resting by the frontdoor!

I did wonder about the 'PR Machine' bit.

If the PR Machine is so good that it's tricked us into thinking we've got a new training ground, a new stadium on the way, an NFL partnership, a deal with the biggest sports brand in the world, and two seasons in a row where we've been in the title race having been lower mid-table fodder when Levy joined, but actually none of that has happened, then fair enough....that is one hell of a PR Machine.

Quite.

I'm amazed how some people can get so fixated on specific failings or flaws that they miss the blindingly obvious big picture, which is that we are inarguably in a far stronger position in every single respect than when Levy took over and that under his stewardship we've consistently punched above our weight, and in doing so have crashed what is now the 'top 6' party. The only other club that's managed to do so has unlimited funds.

I don't get people sometimes. Small time thinkers.

Were you concerned when we snapped Alli/Toby/Dier/Wanyama/etc for next to buggar all, or is it just the ones that don't happen that concern you?

Is anyone here happy with our transfer business this summer? No?

What about last summer?

Now ask yourself how our manager probably feels about it.

What makes it difficult to believe is that Poch is renowned for preferring to develop youth than buy players. He's not a Mourinho or Pep where he has to chuck money at a position. I really stuggle to believe he's the type of manager who'd quit because of transfers, I think he'd quit if some of the players were sold though.

Also the stuff at the end sounds like it's written by the typical "sign everyone no matter what" spurs fan. Willian fell through because of Levy? Seriously?
In today's modern age I just don't see how there's any way an agreed fee would not be mentioned somewhere in media, or even a bid for a player. It's all been interest, interest, considering a bid/approach this summer.

Yeah agree but Poch is very loyal towards his players that's why he gets loyalty back and if certain promises have been renaged upon by Levy then I can see him getting the hump I believe he has previous Espanyol? For this
Hopefully it's just posturing and levy backs down

So I am interested in your take on BENs ITK or were your fingers in your ears for that.

I don't think anyone is saying Levy is perfect and he has made many many mistakes but he is a large reason why we are currently punching above our weight when you consider the income the teams around us have compared to ours.

As always with ITKs no matter what the viewpoint is there needs to be a certain amount of Salt consumed with them.

I agree with you that salt should be applied liberally. Ben's info is encouraging I admit. I just happen to 'trust' The Goat a bit more than Ben and Ali. Ben was top notch a few years back, perhaps not so much nowadays (since Redknapp left? :D).

Obviously not, but he does have a history of not getting what the manager requires, that concerns me and the goat's info is to be believed, then it would a case of Levy shooting himself in the foot again.

Edit: Poxy fingers too fat for phone keyboard:rolleyes:

The same manager that took us to 2nd in the league?
We made some bad signings throughout the years - Soldado... but we've also made some fantastic signing in 'established' players - Alderweireld and Wanyama and youth players - Alli ...
So what's your point?

As frustrating as he can be, the wee bald man, Even if we had a sugar daddy come in with 100 billion dollars, Id still want Levy to be the chairman to take us forward

We are only 7 days in...I haven't lit the levy bonfire just yet. Also. What was wrong with last summer? Jansen Wanyama etc

Excellent chairman, done wonders for the development of Tottenham Hotspur but not a fan of the frustrating 11th hour penny pinching. Doesn't endear us to anyone and if the ITK is true it's costing us some decent signings. If Poch goes next year beacuase of it I would definitely not be impressed.

Levy has evidently made some bad decisions that costs us excellent players but then again he's made some great signings too.
No disrespect to the GOAT itk but in all business there are indeed some unhappy and regrettable moments but to say some of the stuff that most of us are questioning like the PR machine etc... just doesn't add up.
We are a club moving in the right direction and we have an outstanding manager that has begun to prove himself. We've got great projects and a great squad - OBVIOUSLY Levy must be doing something right too.
We may be all frustrated with the lack of signings but we do have a very good competitive squad with some great prospects in the youth. All it need is 1-2 players that made the character and team working ethics and camaraderie.
I personally trust Levy and Poch but i reiterate that in any working environment, there are unhappy circumstances and misunderstandings etc. I think new signings will come before the end of July.

i'm 98% convinced that people on the forum who still defend Levy are being paid off from the man himself to cause peace in the Spurs Community, but then again Levy wouldn't pay off anyone

Oh dear, only 2% logic left....

Why would you be so anti-Levy? He's overseen taking us from financial ruin and low-mid table obscurity, to where we are now. Yet he should be having to pay people to gain him support?!?

I'm not buying into the massive dis-union which seems to have suddenly arisen, from what seemed like a very tight-knit, unified squad.

People will always grab at the penny-pinching branch in order to try and beat Levy with, no matter how feeble and insignificant it becomes. It was all doom and gloom last summer somehow aswell. Yet we had the best season in the Prem ever, for the second season running...

i wouldn't trust that goat. I caught him munching my wife's lettuce in the kitchen the other day.
