I woke up today after having dreamt that Dele was off to Man U, expecting the "bad news" ITK to be nearly as bad.

So I can say that I was relieved w/ the Goat's bleat this morning.

I'm sure Poch is frustrated, but the level of frustration is something that is hard to pin down. On one hand yes you miss on players but on the other hand he also is aware of the project that he's signed up for with regards to the stadium. So who knows?

The window has been open for 7 days. 7 DAYS! It runs for another 55 days ffs.
Come on, Trix. You of all people should know that Poch by and large prefers to get signings in early and it just so happens that the signings coming in early under Poch have been more succesful. Coincidence? Maybe. People are frustrated that we seem to be dragging our feet yet again on signings meanwhile pre season has already started, albeit not with the whole squad.

You couldn't be more wrong.

The 'problem' with the Goat's info is that often, more than one person has an input into how things are worded, sometimes things are left out to protect sources and the final draft might not read as well as we'd like. The Goat is saying what he's been told, reworded, but what he's been told. There is no opinion in there. There is no conjecture in there. We can only judge by the source and as far as we can tell, the source on this is a very good one. People picking holes in one aspect as if it nullifies all of it is a bit of a joke in itself really.
I understand that, but ultimately the only person who really knows how Poch feels about Levy is Poch. And he doesn't strike me as the sort of guy to gossip, bitch and moan to everybody around the training ground, Harry style.

I would have thought the club would have signed their main target by now, given what had been written before the end of last season. But are we surprised at this news?

As long as he had no part in negotiating transfers.

That is rather silly when he is the Chairman and we are talking about (these days) tens of millions of pounds being spent not just on transfer fees but agents fees, signing on fees, wages. He wouldn't be doing his job responsibly if he wasn't getting involved.

I am not naive on any itk's info. Fact of the matter is, we know very little. Another little story for you, or two; Sol Campbell & Robbie Keane. Work the rest out.

"We know very little' yet you want us to believe you know ?

You're wrong again, this is one of those details we have to leave out. You dismiss The Goat's info as conjecture yet indulge in exactly that yourself. And it isn't only you, there's a lot of it going round today :D

I wish everyone would get a grip. Why? Because, what do we really know?

The ITK is interesting. I´m sure there is some tension, as there is at almost every club at the top.
I have a hard time believing Pochettino is having a "if we don´t sign player x and player y we are fucked and i´m off" type of mindset... Especially when we have the starting XI we do.
However I do believe he could be wanting options to alternate tactics and change the game when hitting a wall and is having a hard time convincing Levy that 35-40 mil is the new 15-20mil and that a club record fee is required to meet the sellers demand for indentified targets in this mad age.

Well, I can only go and form an opinion on what was in the post, can't I? Not what was left out.

Anyway, if there is more info that suggests a breakdown in their relationship, then we're all screwed, because a united front was the only thing that was going to see us through this time of difficult changes.

Sol Campbell and Sky Andrews told the world he would sign a new contract. ITK's on various forums at the time was conflicting with each other. Whilst Sky was in talks with the scum for weeks.

Robbie Keane is not too different. Then scoucers was his dream when he joined them. So I know certain things-yes. That is why I respect itk's and fi not knock them.

Mate poch was never going to get his signings in early we knew this would be the case as he probably did.
As for the goat's info today I'm not sure how to treat it really as part of me says opinion the other says I can well believe it.
If it is true then levy is playing a silly game because potentially losing our best manager in thirty years would set us backwards.
I still cling to the delusional view that everything will be fine and signings will be made albeit not what he asked for.

I assumed The Goat's MO was understood :D

It's never as bad as the ITK sounds and it's never as good as the ITK sounds. Always need to find that middle ground and take everything with a little grain of salt. The sky is not falling. We get ITK like this every window. Then we get a positive piece and everyone freaks out. Then we get a negative piece. Lather, rinse, repeat. I'll be worried if things actually happen.

If Poch stays this year & team has an equally good season , I really doubt if he would leave next season when we move to new stadium. I know there will always be friction but I would also like to think Poch is a reasonable man. But am not sure, if Levy would be reasonable as well.
Hoping Levy doesn't piss off Poch anymore & help him with the squad.

Oh dear the news is the worst possible. Lose Poch and we lose stars, lose stars and what has taken ages to build will unravel with rapidity. We will go back to being outside the top table. I can't believe we would risk everything for the sake of not making one or two quick signings ... unless of course Levy is like I think someone who thinks he has a system in place and any half decent coach can get results. Poch though is a manager of the highest calibre and a rare commodity

yeah he like every other manager wants them in for pre season, so he can get them up to his level of fitness and bonding with the team. not the last week of august .

But it's our way, it's always been our way in recent times. Just a little more concerning with injuries and suspensions this time for me

You need us to take you at your word, which I am very happy to do. I fully understand everything you're saying and the constraints and confidences that you have to respect.

But when the Goat says that what he's passing on includes guesses, fine, that doesn't undermine the Goat's credibility in any way, or yours, but it does mean that the information is open to personal interpretation in the same way as the source, in giving us his own guess based on the same information he has given us, is doing.

Unless there is more information that we don't have, in which case we can't take it into account can we?
