There is one main reason we won't sign goetze and that is that we will not pay what he wants, not that we aren't a big enough club for him, he will end up back at Dortmund mark my words.
Dortmund who's highest earner (reus) is on 76k euros a week?

disagree i actually think on this one we have a real chance and why not good manager who improves players and a club moving forwards.
If we dont get him we will get someone else which we will give the team greater depth and flexability.

Gotze is sponsored by Nike, we seem to about to be sponsored by Nike... 2+2=5 Gotze has 5 letters deal done.:watching:

For what it's worth, brand synergy and '360 deals' (I know, forgive me) are huge deals in football at the highest level nowadays with clubs desperate to sign players contracted to their sponsored brands to maximise potential profits and avoid the possibility of, using Ronaldo as an example, Adidas profiting on a Nike-sponsored player through his Real Madrid connections. Obviously we're not at the same level as that, but Nike being a potential bridge between us and Gotze isn't as silly as you might think.

I'm sure a part of Nike's interest in us was Kane, so to have another of their high profile stars might be an attraction to them.

Wouldn't be a surprise, Kane is being positioned as one of the Premier League's stars and is quickly becoming a player of huge brand value. Lucky for us he's got a face like a dropped pie or we probably wouldn't be able to afford his wages.

The small time mentality that is being shown by some on here is cringeworthy re. the Gotze rumours.

It's like we should be embarrassed to admit that we could sign a player of his caliber. Yes he's a top player but so what? We're a champions league team for goodness sake. One of the best teams in our league. Gotze should be so lucky to play for us.

Either way, all I really wanted from here was another attacking midfielder so GF's info makes me feel good that we will do this.
This small time mentality as you put it are posters who are realistic enough to know that not everyone in football including players that we want, will think that we are as big or as attractive as we all may think.

Good job Spurs.

We finalize the deals we seriously need like DM and Striker.
Then the AM we let the preseason and market decide as it is not a priority but a position we could upgrade.
Although Gotze would be great, I think we need more a dribbler than a playmaker. Someone like Mahrez or Boufal. Someone that can unlock tight defenses

Gotze is definitely a dribbler...
