At the end of last summer's TF window I was really happy with the work we had done.
With the manager search dragging on and on then getting who we got filled me with dread.
But this summer appears to be bombing it out of the water and has got me very excited and looking forward to the beginning of the season. if most of the things come off that are being spoken about then we will be in a much stronger position than last season.
Swap deals/ trades look to be a large part of this summers dealings and let's hope we manage to trim the squad as required.
Thanks to everyone involved- off to the TF pledge thread now

Not to be cynical, but when the signings are confirmed I will believe it, we have had to many "we tried hard" stories in the recent past....still looks like out new director of football is working to earn his crust.

Would be brilliant if we can get the ball rolling on transfers on Friday.

Bit worried than CM isn't seen as an issue (maybe skipp is enough)

Bring on Friday!

valenciayid: 2 cb’s, 1 rb and back up for H is the minimal plan
Those are areas that are priority, others are in terms of improving and freshening up the squad should opportunities present themselves and or make good business sense
Levys MO since he has been in charge has always been to buy/invest to improve and that hasnt changed. Despite much criticism, some warranted, this is exactly what we have done. From the infrastructure, training facility and ground to playing staff and off field staff
This screams to me that Levy is upset that Paratici is getting love from us fans for the positive approach.

How. Even if someone was actually repeatedly screaming in my ears the words "Levy is upset that Paratici is getting love from us fans for the positive approach", I would still go "nah mate".

Some of the negativity in here regarding our transfer activity does surprise me I must admit, but maybe that's because I am the eternal optimist where Spurs are concerned. I do however fully appreciate the cautiousness and wariness expressed by people after all that's happened recently. I remain convinced though that members in here will gradually begin to become more positive as the transfer window progresses regarding both the club's plans and Fabio's quality as a DOF.

To suggest that Levy is now somehow jealous of the manner in which supporters are treating Fabio in comparison to himself is bordering on ridiculous and (hope I get this English term correct) "really does take the biscuit".

Enjoy the moment, be thrilled by what could be happening, be excited if and when it does and then look forward to next season. Don't look for negatives that simply do not exist. (y) come and join the party instead.

Or else find yourself a rain cloud to sit under and go to the @Bighec gathering. (n) (n) :)

FWIW-The targets we have in mind have NOT turned us down!!! Selling clubs trying to add a few more digits to the deal, then going public with their tainted digs. From what I have knowledge of, this will probably be our best Window for years. DL absolutely letting Paratici & Steve get on with it. Rebecca (Finance) must be very happy?

Said it all long that Levy needed to set the overall pay envelope (including transfer fee's) and then just get out of the way and let the football people do what they do best. If he has finally seen sense maybe just maybe we could have a decent transfer window.

Let's suppose that we actually have money - naming rights for example - and manage to keep this under wraps until after the window closes, then we could do really well in the current climate where so many clubs are having to deal with squeezed finances. I am choosing to get very excited at the prospect of Paratici being given free rein with all these potential bargains out there...

Thanks for the positive updates Herc! Even if Rebecca might be a bit concerned with the level of investment, it surely is the best buyers' market ever given how bad the finances are for most football clubs right now. Clubs are desperate for cash and so if we have money to spend this is the time to get the best deals... and investing in promising youth can set us up for years to come.

This is facinating as it was widely considered that we'd had an absolutely brilliant summer window last year. Maybe some of that was blindsided by Bale returning but we all did think that we'd done well to get what we did last year. To beat that would leave a good feeling going into the start of the season and off the back of the perceptions created in the manager search would be great.
