FWIW-The targets we have in mind have NOT turned us down!!! Selling clubs trying to add a few more digits to the deal, then going public with their tainted digs. From what I have knowledge of, this will probably be our best Window for years. DL absolutely letting Paratici & Steve get on with it. Rebecca (Finance) must be very happy?
Great to hear!

Very positive signals so far and looks like Tomiyasu, Gil and Gollini all look quite likely to get done. I'm all for these signings, but I do hope that in paying, say, £20 million for Gil we aren't limiting ourselves in other higher priority positions.

Last season we made some great, priority signings like Reguilon, Hojbjerg and (in term of position) Doherty, but were priced out of buying a top CB. Maybe in chasing after the glory of Bale - who was incredible in short bursts but was benched for 2/3rds of our matches - we denied ourselves someone like Skriniar who might've been a huge player for multiple seasons.

I suppose it's all about balance - when a huge opportunity to sign a top talent like Gil emerges we shouldn't turn that down, but equally we cannot afford to leave ourselves short or bring in weaker options at CB again as we'll be completely fucked.

Presumably we wouldn't buy Gil at all if our finances were that limited, though...

Our best window for years? Wow. I still think the last summer window was one of our better ones with Bale, Hojbjerg, Reguilon and Rodon (and Vinicius). (y)
I like the fact that our focus is on defenders but I still think it will be tough to replace Vinicius and especially Bale. I mean, they scored almost 30 goals together. But I stay optimistic!

Levy with the tap ins (signing cheques). You love to see it.

Centre mid has PEH, Tungay, Lo Celso, Skipp, Dele, Winks, Sissoko .... so as the ITK said I believe this position fits into the replace outgoing with better quality

more pressing issues than CM when you break it down. Obvs upgrades on any player is ideal but I’d imagine that is quite a way down the line of priorities especially as others have said, Skipp being an additional head.

All depends on the formation ideals I suppose

Considering winks and sissoko are to be offloaded, we would need at least one imo. For me that would be pjanic

Hercs insights and optimism keep me going. Fact is we are weaker than last season, without Bale, and there’s every possibility we’ll play the first 3 or 4 games with the current squad- Dier, Winks and Dele will start.

Deals need to be done now to avoid toxicity in the stands including towards Nuno. Now.

Cheers

At least we now have someone whose focus is dealing with transfers and won't have the distraction of other areas of the club to deal with.

Matthew Collecott manages the finances, Rebecca does our governance. She did use to work in finance at QPR though.

If things are going well then I’m sure she is happy though! Let’s see

Not groundbreaking but been told again that we are confident we will agree a deal for Romero.

Also, I will say it again, Paratici is really impressing a few people behind the scenes.

Good news! It’s amazing what happens when you let competent people just get on with their job without interference.

The one slight concern I have is I think it was either Trix or JJ said that it was likely there would be good news coming out in short term but that it should be taken with grain of salt because it’s still a bit of a shower of you know what at the top level. Pretty sure this was said on here.

Either way good news is good news for now at least

Appointing Paratici may just prove to be Levy's hail mary play if this goes the way it appears to be going at present.

All the stuff with the manager search had alarm bells ringing but there's a reason this guy is considered to be one of the top DoF's in the game and he appears to be showing it off nicely.

It sounds promising and I love the names we're being linked too. I will still reserve judgement until players are announced on the website. Too many false dawns over the years. I'm just glad we have someone fresh working on transfers. It feels like forever having Levy run transfers every window.

For goodness sake H88, every time I remind myself that this will all end in tears by the end of the window, you come back with your relentless positivity to get my hopes up again. That’s not how it works here!

Seriously, love your updates mate and long may the positivity continue!
