I don't post very often but I think I've figured it out. We put out the vibe that we were going for batshitcrazy then Chelsea bids and wins while we swoop in for their main target Morata. Cue the optimism.
Very optimistic.

Just realised that Standard Liege get 35% of the fee and I think i figured it out.

Standard are the team that we "allegedly" used to get Fryers on the cheap form Man Utd, so we obviously have a good relationship with them.

We used our interest (the truth) to bump up the bids, thus increasing Standard's share, split the difference, lovely jubbly. Making our true intentions the lie. I think we can put this one to bed.

Yeah that sounds way more realistic

Surely the reverse smokescreen has something to do with chelsea stuff in media and palace stuff in media?!! Palace is media jargon so then OM release that Chelsea want him to force our hand? :coffee:

It's alright Snarf, I have figured it out. A smokescreen is a lie to direct attention away from the truth, so a "reverse smokescreen" must be a truth, to direct attention towards a lie.

So, before we try to work out what the truth is and what the lie is, we first need to work out why we would want to use the truth to cover up a lie.
Can I get a confused smiley please!!!

LOL @ 'reverse smokescreen'. Got a horrible feeling this guy is going to go on and absolutely bang them in as well. Oh well...

Yesterday reports stated that Spurs were about to make a bid for Michy and JJ said 'not everything is as it seems'

With his most recent post he seems to suggest that we leaked that info to a) get Chelsea to make their move for Michy who were perhaps also courting another one of our targets in reserve b) hasten negotiations with our principle target which isn't Michy but perhaps Janssen (who JJ said we were progressing with).

Also, while Levy gets knocked for moving to a plan b signing, let's not forget that Chelsea are probably only moving for Batshuayi having decided not to spend big on Lukaku.

Yeah, just caught up with the last few pages.

So yeah.

Um..

My head hurts.

Yeah but that was the excessive amount of alcohol last night......

Batty boy - he could be good or may not, we'll see. Anyway, are we not in Barca today according to various reports to try and tie up things with Sanabria? Or am I blowing smoke* out my arse?

*Crude attempt o vaguely make my comment ITK related.

There's known knowns, that's the things we know we know. Known unknowns, that's the thing we know we don't know. And then there are unknown unknowns, they're the things we don't know that we don't know.
The problem, IMO, are the unknown knowns. Those are the things we don't even realise that we know.

At least their plan b makes sense. They are very similar types of players. Other than the position they play I don't see that many similarities between Batshuyi and Jansenn.

Just one is cheap and one isn't.

I don't think Lukaku and Batshuyi too similar as well. The latter is playing with more agility
