Nothing I have heard this summer screams ambition after Poch signed. There has been a sharp downturn in the mood of the ITK since he signed and its been back to reality of every summer since even before Poch came. This leads me to believe we do not have a shot at keeping him after this year.

Our plans are good enough for the most sought after young manager on the planet and arguably the world’s best striker, but not enough for you, go figure.

The new ITK from Hertyid is extremely positive. We can only hope it's true and not just propaganda. I want to believe but we've been here before ... :cautious:.

hertyid on kanes new deal, finances: First of many. New stadium + CL football for 3rd year = hugely increased income streams = higher wages.
Just wait till we bag the naming rights deal...

and on ambitions: Serious title challenge and a trophy. Anything less is unacceptable at this stage. Poch told Levy that. Levy agreed. Hence the financial commitment from DL and Poch signing a new contract. No more transition. Time to take the final step.

I’m personally fine with us having to be creative in the transfer market and am excited by signing grealish etc but I can see why people get annoyed when we get ITK like this, clearly being feed from the club, and similar things from the media and then get linked to rondon and Hegazi

Not doubting the itk btw, just don’t understand why the club like to push out this message through all channels, pointlessly raises expectations

Also obviously it’s still early in the window but the players we are being linked to has taken a weird turn in the last week or so if we are really as ambitious as is being implied

Fuck sake Hank, do you do it on purpose just to get a reaction out of the rest of us. There's being a pessimist, and then there's you

Why do people care about media links? Players get linked in the press for all sorts of reasons, it doesn't mean we are even remotely interested in signing them.

The ITKs pass on what they hear when they can, and we know it's all in good faith. Even though some things don't pan out the way they- and then we- hear it, we at least know they are doing it for good reasons and with complete honesty. Can't really say that about anyone in the press.

I'll take ITK- with the requisite salt- over some random headline in a tabloid guttersheet any day of the week.

Im sure some people only come into the itk threads to whine -
Why we buying him
Why not buying him
Haven't we bought anyone yet
Levy won't pay that
Don't believe propaganda being pushed by club we're not spending that sort of money
Haven't we bought anyone yet - let's just pay over the odds like some others do

Realise that I might be too hopeful that we are moving in the right direction, getting things done with best manager, chairman and squad that I've seen in the fifty odd years I have been supporting the club but much rather be like that than how some on here are.

We are creating something - Poch wants a dynasty, but it won't be built in a day.

Apologies if gone off track A&C, delete if you want - just needed to get it off my chest

A serious title challenge would involve compiling a squad capable of matching Man City's record-breaking antics of last season. That's a big ask and I don't think we'll come close to it without adding some elite quality signings.

To be title challengers we do need to sign a couple of top quality players in my view. Not just more prospects although those are still important too. Man City have set a benchmark and it's going to take some to catch them. Signing Moura in January was a great way to start the year. Hopefully Levy can deliver more this window.

What the Kane contract does though is show that the wage cap is not the issue anymore which must surely put us in the market for players who were previously out of our reach.

That’s really interesting from HY because he’s never been one to make statements like that. He’s usually much calmer and pragmatic. So something must be up if he’s hearing that too (following on from Herc’s positive posts) and that can only be good news. Let’s see what July brings us as I suspect that’s when the ins and outs will mainly be.

Not really sure what you’re point is? Itk and media links are the only two sources we’ve got. I agree media is usually unreliable but sometimes it’s right and is definatly feed by the club and I was just mentioning it to make it clear I wasn’t having a go at the itks.

It can’t just be a coincidence that we’ve gone from the players we were being linked to with big prices being banded around to more modest ones like rondon, shaqiri, grealish etc. And whilst I don’t have a problem with those kind of signings if that’s what we have to do because I trust poch, I can see why some get annoyed at thinking we’re getting Bale and then signing rondon on the cheap on deadline day

A shiver of sheer excitement ran down my spine as I read the new ITK. If we could win the league it would be a dream come true. I'm 57, nearly 58, and one of my dearest wishes is to see my beloved Spurs lift the Premier League trophy. I hope to be around for a few more years yet, but if that came to pass, I could die a happy man.

So you're pissed off that Daniel didn't ring you to tell you his plans. Poor you! My take is that we wants to dish out the new contracts and make the new signings and sales BEFORE he announces the Naming Rights deal. That way he has more in hand for January or next summer's TW. It's really not complicated.

I could tell you how I know, but then I'd have to kill you!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I think there's loads going on at the moment that we haven't got a clue about. I honestly don't think Poch would have signed a new contract based purely on the fact that he was going to sign Grealish and A.N.Other. I still believe there's a surprise or two up Levy/Poch's sleeves so I'm gonna carry on being patient.

I think one thing to be careful about - links in the media could just as easily be from agents and/or selling teams trying to create a market for their player.
They are far more likely to be from agents. You need to ask yourself if a club would really want to say anything to the press about transfers, it is of no benefit to them whatsoever. Especially if it doesn’t come off
