Yes he could be cheaper at end of season, but by then if he has a good season the so called big rich clubs will be after him and the cost will sky rocket. Yet again Levy lets us down, why do i keep falling into this trap during transfer window hoping things will change. Nothing will change while Enic are in charge.

Alrighty, here we go.

Our DoF was given a budget, which he performed miracles, and kept well within. Basically near net-spend, without getting tied down on exact figures. If you take time to calculate our signings, they were basically ‘loans’ in essence. Yes! There are ‘Options/Obligations’. So not much spent.

Our DoF took on his role, as he was assured DL would not interfere once given his budget. The only time he would is if we were likely to exceed it. The financial department, and DL would sign off.

I said privately our DoF requested the help of Mendez on certain deals , more to assist the selling club, but also us. And I will not divulge beyond that. Around three weeks ago we started to make moves for Traoré, but for this to happen Mendez had to get a ‘mandate’ to assist. This was known privately, even before the media got wind of it.

The player himself made it known to Wolves, he wanted to join us. Liverpool were interested, but knocked back. We offered a derisory sum to Wolves. This at the interference of DL, who did not like the sound of ‘cash’ in any form, though spread out over term of his contract. He then suggested we do ‘Loan with option’ and insulting offer. He then offered ‘obligation’ but same offer. The initial down payment was a joke.

His view was ‘Traoré has around just under two years left’ and feel it was bad business to offer what Wolves wanted. Traoré told Wolves he would not be signing a new contract. Tuesday agreement was reached we would as good as meet their valuation, based upon realistic incentives, which was relayed they would accept. A meeting was held by DL and those involved, and he was not happy to sanction such an outlay. And argued on Stevie, Lucas, Gil, Lucas as ‘just as good’ and better. And we should use them in the mid-term.

There is/was money for a ‘special purchase’ and was being saved for the striker department. Nuno viewed Traoré as the ideal player to fulfil various roles, and create space etc, for our ‘capabilities to create goal scoring opportunities for players like Dele, Kane, Lucas, Gil, Son, GLC’

It was viewed that we need to cover this area, seeing we failed to bring in a striker, even on loan. We also tried for Neves lol.

I will be surprised if Paratici is here at the end of his contract, and already clubs over here looking at him. If you really believe Nuno will work under these conditions beyond his remit (2 years) we are wrong. Same reasons why he left Wolves

My conclusion is Mr Daniel Levy cannot let go, cannot grip himself. And Paratici is no glove puppet. For all of us very long-suffering supporters, I feel for us, because our club is a drug in our veins. COYS
Sorry maybe I’m in the minority here but I agree with Levy( and I’ve not said that often) on this. Traore was a bad buy especially at the price Wolves wanted. He maybe exciting and he may cause chaos but he has NO END PRODUCT. As far as I’m concerned we dodged a bullet.
Not sure what you mean by Nuno working under these conditions? He wanted one of his old players but the chairman said the price was far too high. Don’t see what's wrong with that. Mangers always want players but that doesn’t mean we should pay crazy money to get them. Nuno and Paratici are big boys they know you don’t always get what you want. I’m sure they all fought their corner but According to JJ everybody was ok with the final decision.
If there was money for a special purchase to get a striker why did we not do so instead of chasing a vastly over priced winger.
Love all the info you give us Hercs but I’m surprised you’re getting so worked up over Levy not paying over the odds for a very average player.

I am taking time to calm down, and emotions under Check. All I will say is, DL couldn’t help himself, but go get involved and overrule his DoF.
Trix alluded too it. I don’t take sides! I am not anti/pro DL. I share what I 100% know is true, and behind closed doors they know why it is so. Ratings used to bother me, but not no more. I will share with discretion. COYS

I’d like to say that it’s only because of you ITK ‘s that I come on this site every transfer window. I am always aware that the information you guys provide can change at a moments notice and I‘m equally sure that you never post information with intent to mislead us.
We should and I’m sure most of us are extremely grateful for any information you provide and keep us going through these transfer windows.
Thank you all

Personally I don't see a problem, Traore was outside the allocated budget and the chairman said no.

Do people think that chairmen the world over say yes to every manager request?

As long as Levy is in charge, we will never make that final step to challenge seriously because he doesn't have the mindset to build a team or squad with that capability.
So now are fanbase gonna pretend that signing of Adama would transform our team and make another step for serious trophies?

Player that doesn't solve our problem in his position, still makes our squad 5th best in the league and the best in ECL which we should win anyway?

Traore is not a Spurs player. Too many non events in his game. Missed a sitter against us and Utd which for me is typical for him. He's a bull in a china shop player- good Levy said no.

The end result might be the right one (not overpaying for a player) the process (levy interfering and stopping footballing people do their jobs) is not - and that's the issue I have

I want him to recognize his limitations and and leave others to do their jobs. Otherwise, what's the point in hiring them?

I understand the anger and pain from Herc and the other ITKs. It's not just Levy reverting to type over Traore, his presence loomed over-long during the new manager and Kane sagas which have dominated the whole summer. Not to mention the sacking of Mourinho in May. Levy promised to take himself out of footballing matters, but he clearly doesn't include money decisions in that which is all that matters to Levy really.

It all comes down to control. Levy decides whether the current squad is sufficient and Traore is needed, not Paratici or Nuno. The pay is obviously very good but anybody with a pair of balls will only put up with it for so long. Perhaps, if the ultimate plan is to keep power and control, turnover of senior staff is no bad thing.

No he wasn’t outside ‘the allocated budget!’

Sorry I thought you wrote that Levy would only need to sign off on deals that exceed the budget.

And that it was money put aside for a "special player"

Sorry if I misunderstood
