For the positions that people are angry about not replacing;

Vini - Scarlett
Bale/Lamela - Gil
Sissoko - Skipp

At least will give the young guys more chance to play.

Another angle to view the window could be that Levy lost confidence in Fabios ability to sell and replace the necessary positions to challenge for top 4 this season. Got pissed off that they were still messing around with Traore for over 40mil on deadline day and call the shot to defer to next season when Nuno and the boys have had one more season under their belts and the Stadium has another year of income.

After all, aren't we told that Fabio was in charge of selling and buying? and if so close to deadline we still were missing so many pieces, a good CEO would make the hard decision and not overspend for next seasons push. I mean DL must be thinking WTF, why do we still have 4 RBs on deadline day...(n)

I can understand no midfielder coming in but no Striker is just a joke. We never ever learn do we lol

It's been said by lots of people that either they see Son as a rotational CF, or that he wants to be one, and/or that they don't think there's better out there, so as much as people continually ignore that kind of thing, that is it. It's Nuno's squad at the end of the day, and they'd have been looking for a striker if they thought there was a point in getting one.

I personally want to see the next Kane come through, not the next Soldado/Adebayor/Rebrov, so I'd rather see a 18 year old play the odd game than see us bring in yet another striker that won't play (as people delete Janssen, Llorente, and Vinicius from history when bringing up this old 'we never sign a backup' thing).

Why is every Spurs journalist caveating the we’re done tweets with the “barring a late development”? Seems weird to me. Almost like the club is preparing for a possible wild one

Fucking love you. Please don't vanish again once the window closes.

You are so wonderfully fucking mental.

I’m really confused by this latest update by Hercs. This is not me questioning it by the way, I’m just really confused.

Everyone from Ally Gold, Dan KP, Trix, Hercs etc… have all been saying DL is out of the picture and he’s letting Paratici run with it (within a budget) But it’s only today that we hear he hasn’t left him to it? Or was it just the Traore deal he interfered with?

I thought Paratici had loads of plates spinning? If he had loads of plates spinning why wasn’t back up forwards identified other than Martinez and Vlahovic?

Why has it taken until the last week of the window to identify Traore?

I’m genuinely confused by all of it if I’m honest?
You are spot on, we will soon see if it’s true no DOF on earth will stay in the job. To me it’s double edge sword. For month and month we been given so much information which changed in matter of minutes ??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️

It's not even that, it's all the commerical deals (stadium naming, etc) that rely on us being a CL club.
Surely it’s only allowed to be called the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for CL? Not for NFL, Concerts, AJ fights, Rugby League, Pope visits and Plate Spinning Finals and the myriad of other possible events. There used to be a football club over there.

I try and play devil's advocate to attempt to understand the counter view to my own.

As a fan I always want more transfers. Trying to think like Daniel Levy I imagine he is of the view:

- The money it would take to beat; Chelsea, Utd, City and Liverpool to top 4 is currently outside our financial capability
- We came close to top 4 with this squad but with far less fitness. Therefore we should have enough to achieve top 5 given our incomings and improving our fitness
- What is the ROI on the £40m outlay it would take to sign Traore? If we believe our squad is capable of top 5, and don't believe Traore would get us top 4 then how does the signing benefit us? (If they disagree they would struggle to back this up statistically)

For clarity I don't agree, but I imagine his stance isn't too dissimilar to this

Dont forget what was also mentioned that DL refused to sell Bergwijn so probably the net spend on Traore would be 20 milions.
The profit on Bergwijn would only be what's left after his value on the books has been replaced.

So, if we bought him for £25 million that's converted to an asset which depreciates by £5 million every year.
If someone offers us £20 million after a year that money just replaces his value on the books and there is no extra cash to go towards another player.

I have no idea why this is the case as it's accounting shenanigans.
I've bought equipment in the past for projects at work which takes up a lot of space but am not allowed to get rid of it until it's value is zero (usually 5 years) as our accountants lose their shit about this kind of thing.

It's why it's better to get rid of Toby, Sissoko, and Lamela as they have been here over five years whereas it's harder to shift Ndombele, Doherty, and Bergwijn as we would struggle to get more than their value on the books and end up with a loss.
