Well this was all very anticlimactic.

So let me get this correct, one injury to Rose and we have to play Verts out of position or Fryers?

Ok as we near the close.. couple of annoying things

Those of you that kept saying

"Ozil is done ffs.. get over it"
&
"We aren't signing anyone.. cant see it happening"

Ozil wasn't done until about 30mins ago and we had been linked with a massive signing.

If you know we aren't signing anyone then why exactly are you looking on this thread and telling us that we aren't signing anyone?

It's been a good window but avb and his team have a lot of work to do to get these players fluid together.

I'm hoping for an Adebayor resurgence.

we are done, which is a real shame.
Good'ish window bought a lot of potential but I think we needed a top stellar signing as a focal point for our potential.
Leaving us with one lb and an unproven one at that is really really poor.
Could have been exceptional window if ENIC had shown real ambition an actually invested beyond recirculating the
Bale fee which was the bare minimum expected.

So close

Would of loved a couple more today but still think we have bought well.
Don't give a shit about the scums signing.

Actually think LIverpool may give us more of a run for money than the scum, have made some good signings

Sometimes, I think that some of you on here are not genuine Spurs. In the past, many of us (myself included) complained that we always left it too late to do our deals and as a result, we had to do panic buys ala Rasiak. Now, so many fickle so called fans, are still complaining despite the fact that we did what is right and completed our deals early and comfortably.

Some of you are an embarrasement to the faithful and truly Spurs. Get a grip, will you.

Personally, I think Rose has done a cracking job and will continue to improve over the summer, I'm not sure LB is a major concern to be honest, Rose, Naughton and Verts who can cover that position is good enough for me.

I appreciate what you're saying, we have players that can fill in, so not like we're going to be well and truly shafted. But, moving Jan to LB weakens our CD, moving Naughton there stunts out width and Fryers is another option, but lacks experience. I would just prefer a natural LB, and had just thought following all the sterling work with the other signings making sure we have real quality in depth, LB is the one area we seem to have neglected. If we'd kept BAE it would have not been an issue.
I do wonder of the delay with QPR is down to Spurs getting someone before committing to BAE being allowed to go.

Think some of you have spent too much one around each other -a lot of people having their men period tonight.

We have a much better squad and once Lamela, Ericksen and Solado settle in we will be looking good.

I don't care that we have made a few bob from sales. All I care about is the team on the pitch and to me we look really unbalanced.

We have poor full backs and needed another striking option.

If Lamela is right sided (must admit I though he was left footed) then we are also short in that area

Loads of central midfielders though!

Hope I'm wrong but can see our full backs letting us down like our strikers did last season.

We will see.

Bit gutted to be honest.

WILL YOU GIVE IT A BLOODY REST?

Now that my head is clear, my hope is that we are saving our additional funds for the January transfer window. Lets play out the three months, let the newcomers gel (including Rose and Townsend), and reevaluate the squad at that time. A guy like Coentrao, who was reluctant to move down a class in clubs, might be a little more disillusioned at Real after playing the first few months w/ little first team opportunities in a World Cup year. I think you will have quite a few unhappy players at big clubs come January where we can get some good value for our money.

We should be able to cope at LB w/o BAE. Rose first team, Verts/Fryers/Naughton to cover. Not ideal, but no worse than our situation last year and something we can manage for a few weeks.
