Look, any discussion of our transfer business this summer has to include the fact that the club's revenues have exploded by 80 million pounds this season (50 million television deal increase and 30 million for the CL). Our revenues are now the 9th largest in the world and we are richer than Juventus, Dortmund and Atletico Madrid. How can this have ZERO impact on our spending parameters?

The THST needs to get Levy on the record: where is the surplus money from the television deal and CL qualification going? Is it going to build a debt free stadium for ENIC? What guarantees do supporters have that spending will be massively ratcheted up when the stadium is paid off by 2021 or thereabouts?

There is a clear trend in the EPL. Commercial and television money and not gate receipts are driving revenues. The stadium might have been a game changer if built in 2006, when revenues were below 100 million pounds. But in an era when even Liverpool is 100+ million pounds ahead of us because of commercial dealings, it'll have a far lesser impact (and that's assuming the Prem doesn't institute ticket caps on home tickets like they just did with 30 pound away ticket caps).

News will come out around 7 or 8 that it now looks unlikely.

Around 10pm some news will appear that we are making a last attempt at player x from a source no one is ever heard of.

11pm passes without incident, everyone moves to spurs chat and we sit around the camp fire bitching about Levy.
