Majority share holder of Everton live on SSN now says he is heading back to Everton now and will reconsider in January. He is injured anyway so no big deal. Won't be coming to us anyway end of.

Risky move this. Not seeing too many other creative options at that price around.

Generally a positive window but attacking mid was probably the area we needed to strengthen most and we haven't.

If we weren't willing to pay what Everton wanted now and they didn't lower price enough then why would we then pay what Everton want in January? They'll still be asking for a sum that will make Levy think well in 5 months we can have him for free. This idea that Everton would drop price enough that we felt worthwhile price didn't happen this window and won't in Jan. Either we get him on a free next year or not at all in my opinion.

Bad for Everton though as £35 million now will be £25 million in January.

Add in the fact he'll be using their medical team to get fit as well, that decision just cost them a bomb.

Personally I think we should go in for him and just spend the money, I know £10M is £10M but if Poch wants him as bad as it seems we should just take the risk IMO.

I reckon we've told Barkley to hang on till Jan and that's why he had the change of heart! Gutted not to get him now but makes sense considering injury!
