There are exceptions to movie stills and copyright.

Sorry, I forget the rules on what goes where. (y)

Maybe don't argue in this thread either. Especially when you're wrong. The exceptions, like many copyright exceptions, relate to use in review and editorial content.

It just feels so odd and depressing that after what initially felt like one of the best summer windows that we have had, here we are on deadline day desperately pining for yet another new name and getting randomly linked to someone who is a blast from the past.

Doesn't that say more about you than our transfer activity? (Username checks out)

It is the best window we've had. What's funny is that people moan we don't get business done early and then moan we do nothing on deadline day.

SC - TDD pre 2022: ‘This is shit - why can’t we get our business done early?’

SC - TDD 2022~: ‘This is boring and shit - why did we have to go and get our business done so early?

love this place ❤️

100%. Spooky said something along the lines of had we waited and announced Richarlison and Bissouma today, as both have barely played, people would be thrilled with how the window has gone!

Still hopeful we might get one more though and going to assume the lockdown is for good reason and FP has something up his sleeve!

I think they are ''moaning'' that we are a player or two short.
Nothing to do with deadline day.
And I'm one of them btw

It's bold to call it the best window we've had IMO. I don't think you can top 12/13 when we signed Dembele, Lloris, Vertonghen, Siggy, Dempsey and Adebayor on a permanent.

I think it's more because the early business hasn't had the impact we were all hoping for (yet).

There is definitely a bit of a hangover from last night. It's difficult to not think we've left ourselves a bit short when we've been largely playing the same characters as last year, with little in-game rotation, and have witnessed the same deficiencies in the team.

Are we that short of options?

I'd rather have moura and gil, than Dan James, Traore, or Gelson Martins.

It's only depressing if you choose to ignore the great work we have done this window and also choose to let yourself get suckered in by some of the bullshit rumours being thrown about by varius player agents.

I think the discontent is due to the fact that, yes we got our business done early, but that subsequently allowed us to have plenty of time, to add to the other deficiencies in our squad, which looks like we haven't been able to do.

It can still be classed a great window, with a pinch of disappointment.

It's been a good window so far, one more attacker will probably make it very good.
On Saturday we can continue to rotate without playing hopeless cases, because we have brought in players. Also making Romero permanent helps us. Docs injury is a problem, so for me either Spence is risked or we get a RWB/RW in

The trouble is that it's very difficult to solve all the issues in one window. Even if we had a couple of weeks since our last signing it gets tougher later in the window. Does it not mean we've tried for our top targets early in the window and not gone too far down the list later on? It feels more like the quality we need has not been available to us towards the end of the window. Are we really going to sign players of the calibre of Richarlison, Bissouma and Perisic this late? In which case we have to wait until next year to get the right players.

Yep, that looks like being the issue,.
There's no point signing players for the sake of it, & it looks as though our main targets in LCB & AM, were unattainable.
At least we now know we still have money in reserve, & hopefully can invest in these positions, either in January / next Summer.

I think the hope was that some of the clubs that were believed to need to generate funds would have to revisit some of our earlier offers if nothing else had materialised to raise the funds in the way they would have preferred. Inter for example haven't actually sold anyone of note but have released / loaned way more bodies than they have brought in. If that equates to a big enough save wages wise i have no idea. But from the talk at the start of the window you could be forgiven for believing they would need to do something today.
