Well, it's clear that Inter need money and they are trying to encourage bids for anyone, they know have they have a lot of interest (Bastoni, Skriniar, Dumfries, Martinez) so they are going to play silly buggers until they absolutely have to accept a bid or it's one that suits them in the best possible way (one that allows them to receive seriously good money and be able to replace well without being worse off).

So 13 days till Inter need cash to balance their books?? Guess we'll find out soon enough if they intend to sell us any of their players.

Do we know exactly how much money Inter need to raise this summer, or it is all guesswork?

I guess the "he doesn't want to leave" strategy is their only way to extract some more money out of deals at this time, with it being common knowledge that they need to raise funds.

I'd love us to give Inter a offer they cannot refuse only for us to say, actually, nah changed our minds just to fuck with them. Pricks.

Wording of tweet with caps STRONGLY seems a message to Inter fans that Lautaro wants to stay but inter could sell him… sounds to me like player agent laying groundwork for a possible move….

It is only June so I don’t mind us trying for a star player. But if he were available , Chelsea would come for him during Lukaku talks…

Don’t think it will happen but not going to fault us for trying

Inter always using us to draw out PSG, Chelsea, and money clubs to bid on the players they prefer to sell in a specific window. Last year, they kicked Chelsea into gear on Lukaku and this year it is Skriniar. Win, win for Inter and the player they rumor, as it makes them look good with fan base that player rejected the move and loves Inter.

Inter playing a great game with their transfer strategy. They are stringing people along with no one really knowing their true intentions. My guess is that Bastoni and Lautoro will stay and Skriniar will be sold to PSG with Bremer coming in to replace him.

Martinez was mentioned to me yesterday but i think he’s just part of Paritici’s crockery show…in any event we are heading towards a particular time line and given whats happened so far, we can only look forward with excitement…..next??

even if we did inter would increase it by another 2- million, then when we offer that, theyd turn round and say actually no... hes not for sale! they're wankers!

should just not deal with them.
Has a €105m release clause if you want him and you've offered 90m pay the rest i think he's unreal but seems to steep for what we need

considering the business we’ve done so far, and if other cost effective signings are made (Eriksen, Spence) it’s not unfeasible we’d go balls to the wall for one major player. I agree it won’t be on Lautaro though.

whilst in hindsight, balls to the wall on one major player is great, i think i prefer the kind of approach we're taking withe deki's, bentancur bissouma etc, the big fee players really havent worked for us have they?

Can't see how we'd pay 90m for Lauturo. We've got Son, Kane and Kulusevski. Would have expected us to add another option but not a first choice. I know there will be rotation but not enough to warrant 90m

If it messes about with Chelsea trying to offload fat boy, then I’m all for us stringing this along for a bit…….as long as we have other more realistic irons in the fire. Of course it’s Paratici, so we will have at least 3.

I guess if the club aren't confidant that Harry will sign a new contract then a bit of succession planning to bring in his replacement now is a good idea. If we wait until after he's said he's leaving then prices will go up because everyone will know that we're desperate.
It doesn't sound like we're at that stage yet, but it might explain the interest in Martinez.

Seems we've been quoted over £50m+ for our other options for this position. Established forwards do not come cheap.

I don't think we'd get him but I can definitely see Conte asking Paratici (edit) to try and bring him in, even at around £75-80m for the full deal.

That would be the Tottenham madness mentioned in the article earlier.

He can ask himself all he wants, but I think he better speak to Fabio instead :wacky:

Not really a like for like Kane replacement. Certainly not a Conte style no 9. For me if we buy him it seems like we want options to go 2 up top. But yeah if w get him the only formation that will fit all our best players would be a 4-2-4... oddly Conte used to play 4-2-4 in his early lower league management gigs.

But I think we are messing. Trying to push up the value of the player. Just does not seem like where out money needs to go right now. Although I do think we need a player who can compete in the from 3 positions. Look at liverpool who have 4 or 5 great players in their front three. With 5 subs thats going to be really important.
