Utterly pointless moving on Richy. There is a player in there. He also could be a reasonable plan if Kane moves on at the end of the season

Stuff from Ali-Z yesterday:

I would say that we would have a net spend of 80m plus this summer and when you consider the number of players we aim to shift that would bring in as minimum an additional 50m at rock bottom prices, though could be considerably more and I still think we might sell players that would shock a few like PEH and Richarlison.
The only shock of selling PEH is that someone would want to buy him for what levy valued him at. Richarlison might get a bite off his WC form. Personally don't think we'd be weaker if we sold them both. If we could get 70-80m for both we could easily replace.

Hmmm. All things considered, I think I'd be pretty happy with that kind of net spend. I wonder if it includes sealing the deal on Porro and Deki though? If so, it's basically nothing!

Either way, it'll be hugely skewed towards what we can flog. Where are PIF when you need them....

I’d take any quoted budget/net spend with a pinch of salt. As you say, if it’s purely done on transfer fees then we’ve hit that number for Porro, Deki and the new keeper!

Surely it all depends on how fees are structured. Deki for example is payable over 5 years, so basically 6m or so per annum. Transfer funds/budgets are not based on overall quoted fees, they’ll be a lot more complex than that especially when you take wages into account.

I'd be disappointed if we sold Richarlison to be honest as I think he has a lot to offer the squad if he got a fair shot at it.

There's been a few bits of info from Paul O Keefe yesterday evening as well. Before posting, am I right in saying that it was decided that he can be posted here yeah?

I’d sell PEH and Richie in a heart beat. Was disappointed when we signed Richie and he’s done little to prove me wrong IMO
He's not a total basket case, I just think we could do a lot better for the money. Was unfortunate with injuries last year but he just lacks that x factor you'd want in a 60m player.

Did he say this was info? Because I’m 90% certain that he doesn’t get info anymore and this is likely just opinion.

If it became a situation where selling Richarlison would give us the necessary funds we need to strengthen the team and give Ange the best chance of hitting the ground running, I wouldn't be against it. I still think he would be a great fit for Ange but we're trying to correct years of poor recruiting in less than 2 months and that might mean difficult decisions.

We haven’t recruited poorly for years. Through the Paratici era we did pretty well. What we are suffering from is the shite before.
We clearly need to invest in key positions. Players getting named are encouraging but there is no point in whittling down most of our more recent recruits

Wouldn't that "shite before" period of time fall under the umbrella of years of poor recruiting? Either way, it comes down to recruiting at it's core. I appreciate that there is nuance to this but it feels like we either brought in the wrong managers for the players we had & bought or we bought the wrong players for the managers we hired or a nice mix of both seeing as we've jumped from different philosophies/playing styles over the last 5 years.

EDIT: Also, that was my last post on the topic as this is not the thread for it.

It depends what role he will have and whether it will be just bench role for him, with Son Kane Kulu ahead. If its just bench role, then if a good offer comes in, I would rather sell him now and deploy the cash to build the squad.

Given we have spent money on Deki, Porro, and Vicario this summer already, I imagine we are very much in a space where we have to be creative with deals and focus on shifting the deadwood. I hope we prioritise the back line first; we never had an issue with scoring goals, especially when comparing how many conceded.

Will delete if not allowed, but I’m pretty sure Paul O Keefe is accepted now. As always, apply salt though.

On Tapsoba:
Currently ongoing, clubs are in talks but nothing agreed yet. Personal terms will not be an issue.

On Maddison:
Personal terms already agreed at just over 9m a year.
His current Leicester deal was just about to be halved too (due to relegation) so was always going to agree terms.

On Maguire:
On the list of potentials, but not sure how high up now.

On Bayern media linking Kane:
Are they still trying to flog that dead horse?🤦‍♂️

On Micky Van De Ven:
Hasn’t heard anything about him.

On outgoings:
We are currently struggling to get interested parties apparently.
This is due to very little interest in the players, let alone our asking price.

Outgoings is a concern at this point. If we can't sell them it'll be more loans to get their wages off the books I guess.
