I know its a tad of a touchy subject but a cheeky bid for Berbatov would for me be just the ticket, he is the kind of class that we all want to see come into the club...the past is the past i think hes a Barstard but the bigger picture is more important....If we could get Fergie to allow it ofcourse?? which would be a problem in itself as he would prob want first refusal on Bale or Mods.

Problem is Lenny he wouldn't be first choice when everybody is fit, I know that isn't that often that all are fit but all the same somebody like Samba, in his peak, might look at it and think too many CBs to compete with.

QPR will guarantee him first team football.
:beer:In the glass half full camp, Kaboul came back to Spurs knowing he was in for a wait and now he is damn near undroppable. In fact I'd suggest when King is fit it would be a Kaboul / King partnership.

Same for Samba really. He would be coming in to camp high on spirit and morale - an ideal training environment to personally improve one's game.

Like Friedel, he would still have to fight for his starting berth, but if he has anything about him, he would back himself.

Time will tell, whether he does...

I'm quite glad we seem to be taking our time to bring in players.

We've got to be very carefull in that whoever we bring in ( if we do bring someone in) does'nt have the Asprilla effect on the club.

I hear you, but would Samba's stock not be slightly higher than Kaboul's at the time

Samba is a leader, we need more of them. Younes as good (potentially) as he is, is far too quiet and is still prone to the odd gaffe.

Samba is a player you can rely on, just like Parker and like Friedel....and for all the lads that want some obscure name from wherever because Samba's 'not mobile enough' or has the 'turning circle of an oil tanker' (coughbullshitcough) etc...

We always take our time Markie, nothing new in that

imo i think Samba is a good premier league experienced defender, look at how Parker shone in a poor team, well Samba does that for Blackburn, put him alongside King or even Kaboul and i think you'll see a solid back line.
Even Friedel was slated at villa last season...
give the guy a chance (if we do sign him that is)

Few rumours flying about tonight that Man City want him too. QPR ITK reckon he's theirs, apparently TR been handed in after he found out about their 2nd bid

So two once decent-ish teams with lots of money and City to choose from, eh?

According to some this picture was taken of Berba on a flight to Germany earlier. If he was leaving UTD, I'd take him back.

This!
How old is he? 27!
Do you think we can count on King (bad knee) and Gallas (getting on/age) all the time?
He is a good defender! Can score and play with passion or as Harry would put it he grafts (hard worker)...

I'd take Berb back, he would be awsome playing with the likes of Vdv and Modric.

He would indeed, really nice stuff. But I tell you what Ade puts in far more of a shift, works a lot harder in terms of pressing without the ball.

No doubt though, Berba,VDV and Modric interchanging would be a joy to watch.

Oh yeah Ade is a hard worker but I just remember Berbs first touch, his little flicks and passes, and he was definitely a better goal scorer than ade.

But the fact is I don't think he'd come back nor do I think Levy would buy him back so I would say its case closed. But in terms of good available strikers around atm, he would have been perfect for us.
