This.

As fans i dont get why we have to pick a player to vilify, Pav is a good player at what he does, score goals, yeah he is not a work horse, and at the moment doesnt really look interested, even i will give people that, but when he basically hasn't played this season i dont get what people think he can do, he has already scored an important goal against sunderland. Peter Crouch worked hard, but he was not very good for us at all, but he put on the shirt so you have to cheer him!

I do agree that the way some people go on about Pav on here, you'd think he was Josef Fritzal. but, I dont agree you have to cheer just cause they wear the shirt (I'm not saying Boo either) As you say, pav does not look interested right now and that I can't support. I dont care about not getting first team opps etc etc, he is paid by Tottenham Hotspur to do a job when called upon, not when it suits him... For that I can't and won't "cheer him cause he wears the shirt"

Extend the time period a bit and we have made loads of truly shocking striking signings!!!!

Pekhart, Crouch, Bakari, Blondel, Booth, Qu Bo, Titi Camara, Frazier Campbell, Gary Doherty, El Hamadoui, Gudjohnsen, Hallfredsson, Iversen, Yannick Kamanan, Korsten .... now we are stuck wit Pavlyuchenko.

behave, Crouch was great for us.

If there's one transfer I could undo it would be Crouch.

Let the wrong striker go this summer.

I'd not lose any sleep over it, but I mean...fucking hell, it's very risky.

You must be able to understand the frustrations, I'm surprised most of you don't share them.

But then without Ade we did score twice against City which is pretty good. I agree that we need more firepower but i'm not like many who think an injury to Ade would see us slip down to 6th in the league

a) not sure we signed all of them
b) Crouch is not a bad player - just not right for our setup
c) some of the kids like Pekhart, Kamanan, Hallfredsson etc were risks that we took and didn't pay off
d) Gudjohnson was a great player and still played a part for us even if he was on the decline
e) Pav is a better player than most on this list
f) what is your point? Every club buys players that don't work out.

One goal came from a long ball/disaster by Savic and the other on the counter attack. Other than Defoe's shocking miss, we created zilch.

Although we would like Adebayor to score more, it's what he brings to the game that we missed against City/will miss if he gets injured - his strength, ability to hold the ball up, ease the pressure on our defence/midfield ... etc.

It won't, but it certainly wouldn't help propel us up the league either.

It's the constant putting it off, next window, oh we tried, oh it didn't come off etc. The club obviously know it's an issue, it's the lack of action, especially when we're so close to really competing.

Unsure what message it sends to our best players too, it's almost like we lack the means or ambition to really have a crack at the league and I mean we've never had as good a chance to kick on and potentially upset the applecart.

Mate I don't think there's a single person on here who doesn't want us to sign a striker and a couple of other players. We all want good players at Spurs and we all want us to build on what has been a fantastic season so far.

I think for many though the 'frustrations' (as you put it) are tempered by realism based on the state of the club and the problems of the January transfer window.

I think they are wrong. I'm pretty sure that Titi Camara was never a Spurs player.

...having said that Harry did sign him for West Ham. Perhaps Harry is thinking of an 11th hour bid to get him out of retirememt.

Crouch, Gudjohnsen and Iversen did what they were signed to do and played to their potential or ability and where good signings.

El Hamdaoui? You do realise that after not really getting an opportunity to play with us he went and ripped up the Dutch League with Twente and Ajax?

As for Blondel, Doherty, Hallfredsson and Korsten - I think you'll find none of them were actually strikers.

Amazingly enough 'The Ginger Pele' was actually signed as a Striker

Also I'm Sure Blondel was like 17 when he signed him, not really his fault it didnt work out

So this is what we've come to? We're so desperate for a good striker we are comparing Pav to poor previous signings?
