Happy New Year SC'ers! Always remember as we enter a new year that someone special is out there thinking of you and appreciates you for the impact you've made in their life...... But it's not me, I think you're a ****.

At last, the festive season is over, initially, I was pleased about that until I realised it was being replaced by silly season. I hope everyone got what they wanted for Christmas? I got Cluedo: The Gang Rape Edition. Turns out they all did it.

ITK seems to be taking off so here's your summary of yesterday's utterings, starting with the Journalist, here on SC.
The Journalist said:
Villa have made contact with Spurs regarding the availability of Pienaar on loan. Loan is all Villa are after at the minute. But its been suggested that could change. Villa have also been told there are many clubs interested.
Then Roger Morgan weighed in.
Roger Morgan said:
On Pienaar:

Sunderland want Pienaar. Think we'll take £4m

On Strikers:

They very much regret not getting Shane Long before he went to West Brom. He may be one we return to in future. The other striker we would quite like as an impact forward from the bench is Klasnic of Bolton. Seven goals this season in a struggling team.
Finally, Archibald made contribution..........
Archibald said:
Re: Pienaar

Villa, Everton and Sunderland have enquired re a loan. Sunderland would buy at the right price. Levy wants £6m - a lot of interest but more on loan, we prefer to sell at the right price

Re: Milito

dont rule this out. if we cant get Damiao or one other(dont know who) we will try and take an experienced CF on loan or cheaper option to tide us over as Pav and GDS prob going.
And that was it from the ITK's.

This year I'm definitely not going to break my new years resolutions.
I've gone for getting fatter and more wanking.

WE RELY ON YOU TO DONATE AND HELP KEEP SC RUNNING!
PLEASE PUSH THE BUTTON AND MAKE OUR DAY!
EVERY LITTLE HELPS!

People talk about Podolski but I still don't rate him. One dimensional who scores great goals for Germany. This season, though, he has performed better than I expected, though, he's still not good enough,

One good season in years of hype and Bundesliga football. Not good enough for us, not good enough for Arsenal, really.

A&C, my information wasn't from twitter, it was from tomorrow's(monday) papers, the headlines was just seen on twitter shortly before print

Heres the article:
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Exclusive-Lukas-Podolski-keen-on-Arsenal-switch-article847901.html

Anyway for £12.5million he seems a bargain for a striker who got 14 goals in 16 games,

I disagree I always rated and tbh you cant judge on him on his time during Bayern because every striker tends to be messed around there

I also think he would fit in our system pretty well, also look in the past 2 or 3 years and you could say one good season about alot players but now they are worth 10 times they were before that good season

Arsenal create so many one-on-one chances that I think someone like Podolski would really flourish there. For us though, he's not what is required. We need more off the ball work from our striker, more hold up play.

POTL put this on twitter a while ago
"Blue and orange with a hint of yellow and oregano. Read between the lines."
Any suggestions?

I spoke to my person ITK this mornin and i hve already posted wat he said in the samba thread. But he did say we have looked at poldolski before and we have sent scouts to watch him recently. He doesnt think he is main target thou! He says our main target is Damiao still. As others have said Pav is gone as long as we can replace him same as bassong and pineear/kranjar. And gio should be gone by end of the window

Villa have spoke to spurs and £3million was offered for Pienaar; been told that Spurs want just under £5.1million (why so random???) They won’t accept anything less. This comes from Villa.
Tottenham source reckons Pienaar very much wants Everton return but Everton very reluctant to pay Tottenham’s fee. Where does that leave us (villa)???

Is the £5.1m possibly to cover the fee we paid for him plus the wasted wages?

5m is a pretty fair price. We only got him for 3m because his contract was expiring, he'd be a star for a team like Sunderland/Villa as well.
