Levy will probably wait for the summer and offer new deals to all the players we want to keep.

OK, I went to a mod and PMd, but I'll just categorically say that I have asked and the Benny rumor is a load of bollocks.I won't elaborate, suffice to say as you old-timers know I don't say much, but if I do venture forwards it's not on a pub whisper. So again, been told this is total bollocks. Does he deserve a raise? Frankly, if we win the title they probably all fucking do right? That's all. Back in my cave, tatty-bye...

OK cool. Seems you have excellent links to the club by the sounds of it.

See the Webster ruling:

Article 17 of FIFA's Regulations for the Status and Transfer of Players is entitled "Consequences of Terminating a Contract Without Just Cause", and is the fifth article of Chapter IV, "Maintenance of Contractual Stability between Professionals and Clubs". It outlines the provisions which apply if a contract is terminated without just cause, and the requirement for the party in breach to pay compensation.[9] Specifically, it states that any player who signed a contract before the age of 28 can buy himself out of the contract three years after the deal was signed. If he is 28 or older the time limit is shortened to two years.[10][11] Article 17 was introduced in December 2004, with effect from 1 July 2005.

In the summer Benny can buy out his contract for the cost of 2 years wages (say £4m). Signs for Arsenal for £8m taking a £4m profit and doubling his wages. Over to you Daniel.
You can only do this if you are moving to another league

No chance of us buying really when the window is so slow. 11 days in and i can't think of one particularly significant signing. The people we must want to shift have no takers. No point getting another cb unless we get a taker for bassong. Same with pav and gio

i think theres plenty of interest

its levy's demands in price that are keeping clubs away. Hope he gets some decent money for those players.

I think it was a bit weird that we played Pav instead of Defoe yesterday?! Was it so some potential buyers could get a glimpse?

In a nutshell, yes! Daniel wants him to play more to flog him and Harry simply doesn't want to do that.
Hope there were no potential buyers actually there to see his cameo!

Arsenal would be a little crazy to push through a Webster transfer when their prized asset could invoke the same clause next summer. Doesn't mean they wouldn't do it, but from the little reading I've done, they'd still be looking at paying more than £10 million and would need to go to court to get it agreed.

PSG would make a better fit for Benny, as we could all win off the back of that.

Wolves on Saturday. I can see Defoe starting that one. Needless to risk injury last night I suppose. He'll be chomping at the bit now for Saturday.

I very very much doubt that Harry is picking his side based on what Levy is instructing him to do for business reasons, doesn't fly with me at all. I think it is simply that he has a size advantage over Defoe and that might be something to consider when we play against City. 2-0 up isn't a bad time to throw Pav in.

Daniel wants Harry to play Pav more this month and Harry doesn't , can you blame him? Daniel won't give Harry another striker this month until he sells Pav.
Can you see where this is leading? Impasse.
Harry is using his paper contacts to say what players he needs to put pressure back on Daniel.
Same old and it will all be ok in the end just letting you know !!

How would we win by selling the best left back in the league?

Exactly my thought... Maybe it's better to keep him on the bench so we don't scare buyers away!

We can just hope he comes on score a screamer (which actually does happen sometimes) when the right people is in the stands....

JJ......any indication on the Samba bid that we supposedly put in last night???

his quotes this morning are more or less saying he's leaving.

Thanks JJ. I would worry that it wont be ok in the end because if we end up at the end of this windown with the same strikers we have now, including Giovani & Pavlyuchenko both still in our squad, then I think it will have been a small failure, and that ultimately falls down at board level for not accepting bids we have for players, and not buying the players the manager feels can push us on towards a potential title.

I'll be honest, I never dreamed Spurs would win a league in my lifetime. I'm almost 30, and I never saw the day that Spurs would seriously challenge the Billionaire playboy owned clubs for the league title. I was wrong, we are close, very close, and right now need a an injection of quality in the striking department to keep this dream alive.
