Would rather have Keane back on loan than Jones who has one good game in ten. Levy would be taking the piss and urinating on AVB from an almighty height if he buys Jones. Back the manager.

Can someone tell me if there have been any positive hints from ITK about Heung Min-Son ? I can't find any.

Unbelievable daily thread....(as usual)

Either we are sky high, talking about what's going to happen and how it will all be so brilliant - dreaming of slotting in star players in fantasy positions. Or, we are so low and down in the dumps and ready to slit our wrists.

I guess the lows make the highs seem so great (or the other way round) Don't you just love it!?

I think Jenas is a better option. I went there.
Typical transfer window roller coaster stuff in a couple of days we'll be signing someone from Barcelona then that will be dashed.
I reckon Wesley on deadline day.

Nelsen and Saha. That is all.

Nelsen and Saha were free transfers on very short term contracts. 6 month stop gaps.

Kenwyne Jones is under contract with Stoke, Levy isnt going to pay a transfer fee for a non rated 28 year old stop gap.

use your brain people, and stop taking the nonsense that is Twitter as Gospel

Jones? Ok, better than nothing. But I just keep on muttering "Why not Franco Di Santo?" to myself. Di Santo have 6 months left on his contract and would probably be dirt cheap and he is a decent player and used to a quick passing game, Shane Long would be a prefered player for me aswell. Sure, Jones is big and strong but he can't score a goal to save his life.

I'm sorry but Franco Di Santo?!?!

I'm not sure if you're being serious....

That Stobart article says

"Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas wants to improve his midfield options after Sandro underwent knee surgery that is likely to rule the Brazilian out for the rest of the season."

I don't like the sound of that...

I think its because from the ITK we get, it seems like we have 2 lists of transfer targets:

1. Top class players who would improve us immensely but we can never afford.
or
2. Terrible players that are a waste of time.

There is never a middle tier. So we get all this ITK that has us in a "Meltdown" and then find out that we are now in list 2.

This is the ITK taken from thefightingcock website mentioning Kenwyne Jones. Other info as well. Haven't put it in the RO as not sure if it's allowed to go in there.

Apologies if already posted.

WS is seen as a back up plan.

Mouts is completely down to him.
Villa also isn't ruled out.
We will have one of three strikers....

Keane WON'T play, but you know he wanted/wants too.

Other names being looked at.... Hold on.... Kenwyne Jones... I shit you not.

Walnut was due to sign contract tonight. BUT AFC matched Utd's offer only.

Butland has been sounded out, but wants number one spot.

There is NO truth in DL keeping money for the stadium. It just isn't so.
Holtby could be now, but we're not paying for him when he's free in the summer
Oh and LD is dead. Totally dead. The kid doesn't want to move.
And DL just isn't paying £20m for Willan when he was 12m

I think we'll see movement sooner rather than later, but striker, yeah can sense a deadline day move."

Oh, and some more info from the same ITK was posted today :

DL is booked on a plane for tomorrow to Europe.

In all honesty I think (note that this is opinion NOT ITK - Sibs) it goes first choice - Moutinho, if not we'll try and get Holtby in now.

For strikers first choice is still Llorente, if not Jones. However, if we get Zaha then we we wont get a striker, but then Utd will go for Walnut. All hinges on these two. Beast getting hurt has now put the pressure"

If Levy really pulls another Saha/Nelson this Jan by getting Kenwyne Jones then I just give up all hope on him. The Levy defence brigade can not say anything if that happens.

The Levy apologists are the masters of spin. Even if we were relegated and Levy ran onto the pitch to take a dump on the centre circle whilst wearing an Arsenal shirt they would still claim he is blameless. In the eyes of some, Levy can do no wrong. It's quite comical actually.

Last summer we were in £5m profit so spent feck all...Wheres the money gone ????????????

Not being funny but you cannot simlpy match the transfers paid against recieved and assume that the left over is spare. There are agent fees, signing on fees, golden handshakes etc etc. Also the club has to balance the books and who's to say that we were not operating at a 5m loss and needed to plug the gap (if that figure even existed which i doubt). Peoples assumptions that football is like a computer game and you can just trade ins and outs with little consequence is quite worrying. We are going to go down the "Levy is a tigharse who's preventing Spurs from 4th" route very quickly but let's look at facts, Spurs are more financially secure than ever before, the league finishings in the last 5 years are consistantly better than anything since the good old Billy Nick days (not counting the rare Pleat or Venables moments), we have grown as an international brand creating the opportunity for a top end sponsorship package that matches the clubs who actually have had success of late. We are so much better than we were but we are still a long way from being on the level of the Manchester clubs or chelsea or even arsenal, getting close to being in that mix is an achievement. We will keep growing and i do believe that we will eventually be competitive for not just 4th but even higher. What i don't want to do is to throw money away trying to achieve that goal before the club is ready to sustain it otherwise we will rise for a short time then fall back (as we have done time and time again).

Anyway ITK - Holtby in now makes sense if Sandro is out for the season as you simply give him the beasts squad position in the 25. I can't see Jones unless its a loan but even then i'm not sure. Not sure why people are worried about Dempsey as a striker, he had a 1 in 2 (ish) record last season and scored more in the league than Ba!
