Where would you place Sandro, Vertonghen, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Holtby or indeed the vast majority of the players we have signed over the last few seasons (Saha & Nelson aside). I'd suggest nearly all our signings fall firmly in that 'middle tier'.

Surely we know by now, Levy/The Committee work on lists. We keep on at option A until it is dead, then move to option B, C, and so forth. That approach means we need to have all the ducks lined up. Including probably dozens that we never get near to actually signing.

Kenwyne Jones is probably option J or K (see what I did there?). Perhaps what it means is that AVB/Levy is so determined that we get another striking option, they are even willing to entertain this as an option.

If we do sign Jones, which I really don't see but you never know, I bet you it isn't until we've gone through numerous other, better options and it'll be a 10.55pm deadline day deal, by which time most of us will be in such a state for a signing we'd happily see a "The club are delighted to announce..." message on the Official Site about Norah Jones, never mind Kenwyne.

I'm saying that there are deals out there for decent players. If you actually read previous pages you would see that I'm talking about the drop in quality names from the ITK from Llorente, Willian and Mouts to Kenwyne Jones. We can actually go out and get decent players if we look around rather than doing another Jan window of Saha and Nelson. Fuck me some of you need to pull Levy's ass out of your face and read what's being said in here

I think with TFC, when they put the originator as "new mate", I think that it's that someone has bumped into someone that knows their onions, ie if I bumped into Levy at the shops and he spilled the beans on the whole transfer strategy, it would go down as "new mate", to protect the contacts identity (much like the Goat)
