Not long after we signed Siggy A&C referred back to an earlier round-up where he had started his paragraphs with the letters G, Y, L, F and I.
This is true. IIRC on the very day The Goat's mum shopped in Iceland. Chalk that one up to him.

Huddlestone has been at Spurs since 2005 and is now 25. Why dont we *know* at this stage if he is good enough?

Im all for loaning out young players to help them develop and get 1st team experience, but if we were going to do it with THudd we should have done it 3-5 years ago, not now.

I like him, but Im not sure a good loan spell at a lower Prem club is going to change his status at our club....think we should make these tough decisions and not just loan him out

Because 'we' is now AVB I guess and each to their own. That's my take on it.

Peharps we want him to play a season and raise his value so we can fetch a better price for him in jan or the following summer?

Hudd's not played for a year. If he's at the level before his injury then he's in the squad, but we probably just need to see him get fully match fit and if he's going to get back to that level.

Think a loan is a good idea myself

If true I very much doubt this has anything to do with 'is he or isn't he good enough' or about loaning him out to get experience.

He's just had an entire season out injured so I imagine it's about getting him regular game time to raise his fitness levels before we bring him back.

As I previously said, to play the AVB system you need to be fit.

As biz already stated.

Thudd out I wouldn't be bothered with he's served us well enough In his time but if its his time to move on then so be it but not on loan I'd rather have it permanent.

The "A" bomb (Aubameyang) is probably the most exciting link for me this window he is our perfect target and we should stop being so hopeful of signing "world class" players and rather move our attention to targets like this that are within reach.

Glad to hear Adebayor should be done before WBA and hopefully he leads the line for us come matchday. My opinion of him hasn't changed and I truly believe he is a koi at heart and will do well for us this season. Can't wait for the Ade/Bale dances again

O/T: When I reach 100 posts I think I should be dubbed AC Junior :p

Yeh but it might up his value a fair bit if he has a storming season for a mid table team.

Hudd needs to get that proper match fitness built up, after such a long time out that will take time to build up. A loan move is best IMO.

I am a little surprised at people's negative views on loaning out Huddlestone!?!

It is clear, as others have also said, that he needs matches. He is not going to get that so regularly here at the moment and we need Hudd at his peak. A loan for him to get match fitness AND sharpness is ideal and if he doesn't fit AVB's style later on then he will be a better prospect to sell, whereas now other clubs will also question his fitness after such a long gap and his monetary value will be questionable (i.e. lower than we would like).

All in all it is the perfect solution.

Normally I'd agree with this, and actually as I'm not that massive a fan of Hudd anyway I'd not really miss him that much even if we sold him.

However whatever his limitations, with Modric gone Hudd is our only midfielder capable of passing the ball more than about 5 feet. I don't really rate him, but he's better than having nobody at all. It would be like selling Defoe at the moment.
