I am a little surprised at people's negative views on loaning out Huddlestone!?!

It is clear, as others have also said, that he needs matches. He is not going to get that so regularly here at the moment and we need Hudd at his peak. A loan for him to get match fitness AND sharpness is ideal and if he doesn't fit AVB's style later on then he will be a better prospect to sell, whereas now other clubs will also question his fitness after such a long gap and his monetary value will be questionable (i.e. lower than we would like).

All in all it is the perfect solution.

R.

agreed. (Riandor, why do you sign off with an "R" when we can see whose posting cos it says so?)

lovingly yours,

S.M.

He is exactly the type of player we should be looking at. Cisse and Jelavic are players who we turned our nose up at but would of been really good buys but again were risky signings as they were unproven.

I agree, I'm happy to go for a proven target like Ade and a wild card like this guy.

POTL on Hudd and Daws:

Hudd and Daws both not selected for the squad on Sat. AVB doesnt think Hudd is fit enough, hasnt had many minutes pre season but that is up to Andre, and Daws simply didn't make the squad.

POTL

Read into that what you will.

Remember how Fabrigas ran straight past him from the kick-off to score against us. Remember how he was so easily by-passed by teams who played fast passing, quick breaking football. No use picking individual games, we can all do that, but over the years he has been here he has not lived up to his potential. A loan may just get him playing well, but it would be his last opportunity.

Who's this Fabrigas lad? From what you've just said he sounds quality - Should look into signing him! Who does he play for?

IF we can't afford better. The 6/10 rating for shooting, whilst only the authors opinion, is a little worrying for a lone striker though.

Yes, it was clear by his follow up tweets about him certain to be involved but being fully fit. Whilst he can pick a good pass and occasionally have a brilliant match, he is all too often bossed by better midfielders. We can't afford to carry pedestrians. I'm looking at you Jenas.

I've now read his tweets after and I still think it's a fairly big assumption he is talking about AVB. Stupid thing to do if he was but I'll reserve judgment. We lacked creativity from midfield in the second half against Newcastle. I would have preferred to have the option to bring on Huddlestone for Sandro/Livermore to unlock the Newcastle defence. I agree with your comment about him being bossed in the past, but once he got himself more mobile just before the injury he seemed to be able to cope better and once on the ball his passing is top draw.

So going back to the ITK about him going on loan, if we get someone else in who is more creative in midfield then I'd say it would be good for him/us. If we don't, i think we need him here.

It's good that we as fans realise we need to take a few risks on potential. After all that's how pretty much all of our current first team was bought. Why we now think we can play with the big boys for the big players I don't know.

Talk of a family berevement my not be true then. After Dawson didn't feature at all for our last 2 pre season games I was certain at that point that AVB will not count on him this season. Despite plenty of disgagrees it looks like I'll be right.

We have 6 central defenders and it seems he is 5th in line

Sounds like Ade to be honest with first touch and shooting. Sounds like he must get in scoring positions a lot to get the goals he did in the last few years.

In recent years the only player to have gone out on loan and still has a bright future at Spurs is Livermore.

Sorry but its start of the end for Tommy at our club

POTL again:

I'm not sure where it has translated to Daws being sold because he wasn't in the squad for one match? Didn't make the squad on this occassion, that is all. 4 competitions to play in this season, need a squad.

POTL

Fair points, I guess. Lot of folk thinking Daws could be on the move.
