He was sacked by Chelsea a long time before AVB was appointed?

Didn't Wilkins apparently say that AVB would be a rubbish appointment for Spurs?

Ok so my original post got caught in the cull.

Interesting to see that IM is off as he seems to have been doing a decent job lately with his scouting. However perhaps the contract bits that seemed to have held up announcing AVB include him wanting his own scouts.

There's no rules about how many scouts you can emply and lets face it a decent scout can pay their way many times over. Whoever picked out the likes of Kyle Walker (sure someone will tell us) for example. If IM has a proven record of making Levy and Spurs money I'm sure they'd keep a place for him if he wanted one. It may well be IM has a personal loyalty to Harry or other members of the departed back room staff.

Perhaps later we will get clarification on the nature of this latest cull via ITK or perhaps we'll have to wait for Harry's autobiography which is surely forthcoming (assuming a publisher informs him he can make a few bob from it).

it was just a post saying that the mail is off with their info, his contract runs til 2015 not 2013 as reported.

re BEN info, to be honest I'm happy with it, a coach needs a Scout he can trust, if he's bringing in his own man it means they are on the same page straight away re potential players.

Also, I believe the scout is Daniel Sousa and he will be there to run the rule over opponents ahead of games.

A lot of clubs have part time scouts in other parts of the world, like, and forgive me for this, Football Manager does.. sorry.. you may remember my FM buddy from time ago. He used to compile DVDs for clubs who wanted to check on players in his country. He'd record the games over time, edit, and mail them. There is less need for a dedicated full time scout employed by the club when the games are almost always televised.

a lot of rumours about a 12'o'clock announcement seem to be off, spurs need to hurry up so I can do something with my day! Hopefully we'll also have some sort of announcement on who the assistant manager is, it is a vital position after all... have we heard ANYTHING on this?

I think this should be repeated every day, multiple times, in the ITK thread. Anyone can do it if they see the thread starting to go off course. We are not a stupid bunch, but do occassionally need reminded of the rules.

But they are all part of the same thread. I understand, and applaud, the need to crack down on OT and T***** related stuff but, imo, it becomes a bit absurd when you can't even make reference to certain other media outlets which pertain to the ITK under discussion.

This is the ITK discussion thread. If you want to post about what Sky Sports News are saying about AVB then please feel free to go to the 'New Manager Chat' thread, or whatever it's called. The idea that this is a general discussion for all walks of Transfer Discussion is a myth. Much like Andy Gray creating the 'daylight' rule for offside.

There's no reason this thread should be the hub of things. If you have an amount you want to donate because of an announcement, you wouldn't post it in here? You'd go to the thread that it relates to. I don't understand. If there's no ITK, there's no reason to post in here. It's that simple.

It's explained in Post 1 of the Twitter thread. There's so many WUM's on there that this thread would be inundated with bullshit if Twitter were allowed in here and to make that an easy rule to follow, we don't have it in here at all. Ever. No matter what the source.

I can though say congratulations to all the ITK that pointed to AVB being the new coach? They got it right and I made some cash before the great crash in odds of Thursday night (all that time ago). Now that it's been confirmed. Edit - Sorry - just read A&C last bit, even though it's the official site.

So Clive Allen is off and AVB is referred to as 'Head Coach' not Manager. The news on backroom staff could be interesting then. Does anyone recall Harry's job title?

I don't see why another scout joining means IB has to leave. Most clubs have a network of scouts not just one.
