Shall we share the plaudits then Yid1987? I got Tune Group, but you correctly narrowed it down to Air Asia who are a subsidiary of Tune Group.

Also, do you want to form a crime fighting duo while we're at it?

Bum fluff and Footman?

I made countless posts in January arguing the case for bringing in Negredo in the winter window. The guy was arguably the most in form striker in all of Europe in 2013. The thing he has, that Soldado (who is also fantastic) doesn't, is an absolutely wicked left foot. As Bale has shown, the way to beat teams that want to park the bus is to take your chances from outside the box. Unfortunately, our team is loaded with attacking players who are very poor shooting from distance. Negredo would shine leading our attacking.

Really, either Negredo or Soldado should be bought before Damiao is even considered. The former two are much more proven in one of the top leagues in the world, while Damiao isn't. Yes, Damiao is young, but re-sale value shouldn't be a determining factor when our window to really compete at the top of the league may be limited with Bale potentially moving abroad.

Furthermore, attacking players coming to England from La Liga have absolutely be fantastic lately. Michu, Cazorla, Silva, Van der Vaart, Mata, Torres (24 league goals in his first season at Liverpool)..... Both Soldado and Negredo would bag 20 goals over the course of the season. They are on wages we can afford, and their transfer fees can be balanced with the sale of Defoe, and a bit of deficit spending (which we'll recoup in a worst case scenario of finishing lower than 4th next season and Bale being sold).

Major upside, with limited risk.

New ITK from the journalist

"From what I have been told regarding Tottenham’s transfers is that will bring in two established players and up to 4"quality" unknowns/youths. "They know they can’t compete” and they are going all around the world to get them.
One of the established players is David Villa.
Regarding the other less knowns;
One, as I mentioned earlier in the week, is Emre Can from Bayern.
Another is a Brazilian player; not Leandro.
They are also speaking to Sporting Lisbon.

Regarding departures Tottenham have had enquiries for numerous players. Dawson; Livermore; Townsend; Defoe and Siguardsson and Adebayor has options that his agent knows about."

Guessing Bernard might be the other Brazilian player?

No clue about any of the Sporting Lisbon players...Anyone know if they have a decent striker, midfielder, or left back?

Just from transfermarkt I can see a few interesting youth:

Zakaria Labyad (20) - AM, Moroccan/Dutch, 2 goals 3 assists 945 minutes. Has some knee issues.
Andre Carrillo (21) - RW, Peru, 1 goal 4 assists 1333 minutes.
Marcos Rojo (23) - CB, Argentina, played 24 matches.
Bruma (18) - LW, Guinea/Portugal, 1 goal 4 assists 926 minutes for first team, 6 goals in 25 for their segunda liga team.

There are more, including Diego Capel (25) who we have been linked to before and several who have good stats for the segunda team, but it's difficult to guess who we might want as their whole squad is young and noone really stands out besides Rui Patricio and Wolfswinkel who is sold already.

On a side note, if we sign Can, Bernard, and Labyad, then AVB is literally copying my latest FM save.

What about the English kid at Sporting? Eric Dier? Think we were after him earlier in his career...

Dier - CB, 19, been at Sporting 5 months and played 14 first team matches. Sounds plausible to me but do we need another CB? I guess that is one of the weak points of our youth team.

Well the journo said we've had enquiries for so Dawson so I'd guess if we get the right offer and can get a new one for the right price we'd deal

Villa and perhaps Soldado/Negredo being the established players would be superb?! Any of these 3 would score 20+ goals next season and have proved themselves over the last 4/5 years.

This is maybe the summer were much of AVB's scouting while out of work will pay off. I'd suspect he has been keeping an eye in a number of players and their development particularly in South America. I'm sure Levy will back him with young signings, fits his policy perfectly.

Good to know we have lots of interest in players we'd like to sell. They can be a huge stumbling block to getting some signings in. The fact that we are going across the world for youngsters is very encouraging too, I wonder if Cornelius is one of those younger players?
