So, the window is closed and there´s nothing more anyone can do.

I´ll shake off all my negativity and get behind the team once more!! But Levy should start right now making deals for January. Have everything in place pending medicals. Ade and BAE is off for a month so there´s no room for "Brinkmanship a la Levy"

Come on you Spurs!!!!

Dempsey played up top on his own a lot for Fulham when Bobby Z had that terrbible injury. The point is yes he can play up top on his own. He holds it up, scores headers, right foot, left foot and he works his balls off closing down. He`s PL proven, imo he`s a far better option as a 3rd choice striker than Harry Kane.

Think he will be second choice - would be very surprised if Defoe is not relegated to bit part player, he is not capable of playing the lone striker role. He cannot hold the ball up and bring team mates into play, all he does is move the ball once and blast it, wherever he is, albeit sometimes with great effect, but other times dismally woeful. That is Defoe, he will never change.

In the chaos of last night I never did figure out what happened to Jenus's transfer to Sunderland. Anybody know what happened?

I don't really understand how people can be happy...yes we signed some decent players, but we tore the heart out of a top four side with Modric and VdV and have not adequately replaced them in any sense, our midfield is now massively weakened and I'm not really sure how anyone can claim otherwise. We now have literally 0 creativity in midfield. The new manager wanted Moutinho and Willian... he got Clint Dempsey as a desperation signing who will now be the walking talking symbol of this window's failure, we will do well to finish in the top 6 this year and if we continue to play like we did last weekend AVB will be gone by Christmas...how can you bring in a new manager and not back him?

Dembele?

One thing that is overlooked is our new stadium situation, so we are making profits on transfers however if this is reinvested and we are not lumbered with the same level of debt as the scum then that's all good, remember AVB is a long time project
don't need one, i'm willing to bet that there are tickets available right now for today's game

Thanks to the mods for making deadline day work so well.

I'm out of here. No more forum browsing for me any more.

Enjoy the season everyone. All the best.

Hi guys,

Been ghost reading the site all summer, thought I'd make my 1st post now - enjoy reading this site btw.

It's easy to be disappointed after missing out on Moutinho last night but after much reflection if you look at our transfer dealings we have done some exceptional business for a team who didn't make the Champions League. The quality we've brought in this summer have been superb IMO

This has been our best transfer window bar none. Okay we've lost Modric who we knew was going anyway whether we qualified for CL or not and Rafa has left due to personal reasons and reasons out of our control but look who we've signed:

LLoris: France no1 and captain and regarded as one of the best keepers in the world, TBH I think this is one of the best deals of the window

Verthongen: Superb defender who fits our system under AVB perfectly, great replacement for King both on ability and personality.

Dembele: Player who I've admired for a long time, fantastic balance, technical skiils and ability to beat a man, will add a bit of flair to our midfield

Siguardson: Great young, technical player, (much needed) set piece taker who will drive into the box and will score goals from midfield.

Dempsey: Another player who will score goalJs from midfield (18 last season), loads of experience and a know how to play in the Premiership, plus is an able backup for Ade and JD

Adebayor: A player who was brilliant last season and will be vital this season, massive personality in the changing room and a real handful for opposing defenders.

Keep the faith :)

good news about harry kane though; work with a decent coach, can learn from the bruiser they have up front, and hopefully he is part of a bribe for the canaries to throw today's game :D

If people are returning tickets because of who we haven't signed, then they are not fit to be called supporters. I am disappointed, but I had a st when our only signing was tramezzani.

No one knows how this will pan out, we need to give it at least 10 games before we can deem the window a success or failure.

We have made good signings

Just a bit weaker in the middle, VDV was never reliable, always injured or unfit to finish a game, Modric for Dembele is ok for me.......the one I want to see given a chance is Huddlestone, AVB doesn't realize how good he is, play him in a 3 with Mousa and Sandro and let them do all the running and Tom can do the passing.

Anyone watched Dempsey regularly? He seems a decent goal scorer but Dembele always takes the limelight when I watched Fulham
